2025/26 David Moyes

Nothing I've seen from TFG so far, or their choice of Everton CEO suggests there's even a remote possibility of change this summer.

They'll get him some full backs, the likes of Ivan Toney/Liam Delap/Tomas Soucek/Harry Wilson and we'll be 9th-12th next season.

You'll be happily dissatisfied. Unless Liverpool win a trophy or two. Then you'll pipe up a bit as it'll get on your nerves.
I wonder if they'll trademark this in time before being gazumped on 'People's club' like happened last time.

In his defence the 'what do you expect?' answer was definitely more about how he was feeling.
That's where my defence of him begins and ends
fair but there's been a general vibe of 'we're not ready' and 'It's a miracle we're even on the pitch', ok maybe a bit hyperbolic but you know what I mean.
The 'plucky little everton' schtick is creeping back in only this time he's left millions of pounds worth of players to kick their heels on the bench

Agreed. As soon as Europe looked likely he talked us down
And there's been nothing plucky about us lately 😆
A bit of pluck would've gone a long way for that run in

As expected. Is anyone actually looking forward to the summer off season, and the start of a brand new season when fans of every club should be full of hope and optimism? Well I’m certainly not.

We all know exactly what next season will serve up before it’s even started. Why just write off another year?

I’m not getting any younger, and I’m sick to death of the lack of ambition at one of the most successful clubs in the country from the owners, to the CEO, and sadly, a section of our fanbase who seem happy to settle for “stability” and mediocrity.

This has been going on for many many years now and I’m sick to death of it.

This is a quality rant. No specifics, and the window of being annoyed combines both the moshiri ear with this 18 months of tfg, as well as Moyes current tenure with the last days of dyche.

This is a highlight... "Is anyone actually looking forward to the summer off season"? Well, I hate to be the bearer of even more bad news, but there is the most swollen world cup to drag ourselves through, so there will be no summer off.

I'm not getting any younger... I'm sick to death... stability synonymed with mediocrity.

Beautiful. :pint2:

catch22.

IF he or kinnear or whoever from the ownership start spouting we're the best in the world, they end up looking pretty stupid when that Belgian winger (fofana was it) knocksus back 'cos of career requirement*.

catch22.

results business, play the rotated youth players and lose and it's "you never change a winning side"

catch22.

Patterson gets played so O'B gets a run at CB, if it goes well it should have been done sooner, if it goes bad then "patterson clearly isn't the answer".

Moyes wanted Tete and McGinn. I expect he wanted a season out of both Branthwaite and Grealish as well. Barry has been very close to a complete failure, the Arsenal game away with his pals and tales of sulking and online drama have not helped that cause. Beto has 12 months left.
I'd rather have Rooney back than bust a gut (arf!) getting delap in.

catch22.

It's because European qualification was close that missing out so near to the finish line hurts that much extra. Away form been great, home form has been very very bad. Mind is a bit rubbish but at the moment I can only remember the Fulham game at BMD where we put two halves of good football together (I might be misremembering I concede!).

No idea how to fix it. Change the pitch ergonomics (thinner and shorter) maybe.
Better get that extension down sharpish; sack Moyes, sell Keane, sell Barry.

Moyes took 4 points off both this season.

:/
If it was not for our away form we would have been in a relegation scrap or if we had got points like yesterday's defeat add a list of clubs at home we got battered like the mighty Spurs etc we may have made Europe the main worry imo is our style of play particularly at home -
DMs two banks of four - dropping back to protect a one goal lead mainly is painful to watch !

yeah, this is me. almost 50 and for some bizarre reason, still watching Everton week in week out.
Just do what villa did. Gerrard was crap so the went and got Emery who's about 5 levels above Moyes.
They skipped the whole 4 seasons of finishing mid table to build stability.
Thats what happens when you appoint a really good manager.
I'd even settle for mediocrity if it was at least entertaining and I didnt spend half my time screaming at the telly like when Sunderland made a triple change and you could almost hear moyes's brain mulling over introducing coleman in the 88th minute.
Or last week introducing Alcaraz in the 88th minute when KDH had looked gassed for 45 minutes.
I dont get how anyone finds this acceptable.
