2025/26 David Moyes

I'm struggling to pinpoint the home issue.

Maybe D-Hall sat deep protecting and forcing the use of Alcaraz or Dibling in the AM. Clearly the away set up has proven its worth, maybe Moyes is to wed to that setup and its successes that he has relied on it at home where other sides have simply waited us out.

I cant quite place it.
What is there to pinpoint?

He gives far too much respect to every team that rocks up, regardless of quality and sets us up to be at 0-0 with 15 to go in hopes of ‘nicking a point’. at home. to dross.

No intent to win at home, that would require thinking outside of the box and taking a game to the opposition.

We need the fanbase that called for Martinez out after two cup semifinals in a season and league finishes of 5th 11th 11th.

The one that was so incensed by Victor Pereira joining that they daubed Lampard’s name on the wall of Goodison.

Instead we have sold out away sections every match with them all singing the school of Science as Pickford launches it to Beto’s head again.

We get the club we accept and everyone at Everton is just far too comfortable.

Find it weird that we have Baines and Coleman hovering around Moyes, presumably assisting but also learning.

Would love to know if either of them ever say, “look gaffer, I know Jake is solid, but it’s impact on the shape of the team is really restricting us. Attacking is a good way of defending, and we are playing Wolves who are utter turd. Maybe we should try …..”

If either has any dream of become a modern PL manager, they surely must have opinions on more up-to-date styles of play, risk versus reward etc. If they don’t then they they are going nowhere. And if they do but are too fearful of questioning Moyes, then lucrative careers as assistant yes men await, but with their current oracle soon to retire.

Manager has final say, but preparation throughout the week will involve a team of coaches and analysts. Ignoring the Dibling, Aznou stuff. How can they all keep agreeing that some of the lineups are the best we can do? And how do they all agree to keep exactly the same players in exactly the same shape when you haven’t won for two months and keep leaking soft goals.

Moyes' biggest flaw on the pitch is his inability to manage five substitutions. He's truly the worst in the Premier League. Aways reacts after the opposition has already made a move, and his response is either too late or inaccurate. His hesitant thinking leaves us vulnerable to those injury time goals. And I think this rigid thinking will only be worsen in the next season.
Their first change was on 23 minutes on Sunday. So that is a rogue outlier.
They made their second change on 60 minutes.
Moyes made his first two changes on 73 minutes.
They made a triple change on 77.
We made another double on 88.

I can understand keeping a sub in the bank in case of emergency keeper issue.

Sundays game wasn't decided by subs.

Just Look at KDH, Never seen a player have to turn back so often as there is no forward outlet.

Mental Fatigue: First step to recovery, Remove the object causing it.

Villa landed lucky, arsenal had pulled the trigger early and so Emery had a point to prove. Villa had also had the benefit of swabbing down the decks when they were relegated and building back up on new foundations. A series of successful signings and a wily old manager with some euro tournament pedigree. No points deductions, no dyche, no new ground. Good for them. We rarely get nice things.
We're in a shiny new stadium with wealthy owners.
Villa didnt get lucky. They picked wisely.
We're like Palace appointing Roy Hodgson.
Our squad is ok. Get a good manager and a couple of new players and we could finish top 6 playing nice football.
Like bournemouth.
