2025/26 David Moyes

Him and Sam Allardyce have a unique ability to quickly move teams from 18th to 8th quickly. Trouble is they don't seem to try to make the next step. Maybe they think they will drop to 16th just as quick.
Well seeing as Man City / Chelsea / Liverpool etc usually spend about 250m a season on new players maybe that is what’s needed to make the next step. Moyes doesn’t have that luxury 🙄

I have always been of the view that yes, it's good to not have a relegation battle after the last few years which is great! However, still feel this is the best opportunity we would have to push for Europe which after our recent results looks a far stretch. Regardless of whether we are ready for Europe.

Anyhow, we haven't really progressed this year and realistically we are going to struggle to match the points tally of last year, which was heavily down to the second half of the season and the positivity which was brought to the club through Moyes and getting shut of Dycheball. Very similar amount of goals scored and conceded to last year! Football certainly in the last 2 months hasn't gotten any better either.

We have according to stats the 2nd hardest run in for the last 11 games of the season.

After this weekend games if we don't pick anything up against Newcastle then we could be sitting in 12th/13th position... then our big hope would be Burnley before we play Arse, Chelski, RS and Citeh as 4 of the next 6 games.

Apparently Bobble on his podcast last night was saying his man-management is not going down well.

I doubt Moyes will lose the dressing room because he assiduously looks after senior players in a squad like Coleman, Tarkowski, Keane etc for just these moments.

But his methods are archaic and these players know they'd be doing a lot better under another manager, especially at home where they now look frightened to death defending.

I'd like to see;

Branthwaite and O'Brien centre back.
Gana dropped. Garner in midfield with Dewsbury-Hall as an 8
Ndiaye on the left.
Patterson starting, he's started in wins at Villa and Forest and in Moyes' own words, never let us down. So let's start to prioritise team balance. It's daft to have Branthwaite at left back when we have a left back on the bench, or O'Brien at right back when we have right backs on the bench.

I'd also like to see some more effort into the bigger picture and developing players we've spent a lot of money on, like Dibling, Rohl, Aznou, Alcaraz. That's a lot of money there not getting any time/development.

Moyes was being kind when pressed for a comment.

No way he starts under Moyes unless it's an injury or suspension crisis.

A decision I'd support. Obviously. As for team balance with him in: we look to get players around him to make sure he's not exposed and he's hardly been the Flying Scotsman getting up the pitch and getting crosses in.

The more this lad isn't played the more he takes on the mythical status of the Golden One. He is what he is: hopeless.
