2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes was being kind when pressed for a comment.

No way he starts under Moyes unless it's an injury or suspension crisis.

A decision I'd support. Obviously. As for team balance with him in: we look to get players around him to make sure he's not exposed and he's hardly been the Flying Scotsman getting up the pitch and getting crosses in.

The more this lad isn't played he takes on the mythical status of the Golden One. He is what he is: hopeless.

Grow up. You just hate him, as you do everyone with Rangers connections.

Well seeing as Man City / Chelsea / Liverpool etc usually spend about 250m a season on new players maybe that is what’s needed to make the next step. Moyes doesn’t have that luxury 🙄
Better give up then, and just play rugby 🏉 at corners. All those wages to Moyes are pointless then because how can he possibly add value against such transfer budgets. Not his fault he spent money on poor players that Man City didn't want.

Friedkin's should've been on the blower to Glasner ages ago by the way. Soon as he's finished up at Palace at season's end then bring him in. No messing about.

Not convinced by him tbh. Fell out with the sporting director and players at wolfsburg. fell out with the board at palace. Left frankfurt a year early due to poor results.
He walked into a time at palace where they had recruited really well. Be interesting how he'd get on now with the sale of their better players replaced by strand larsen and brennan johnson. They've finished 12th & 10th in the league under him. Cant take away the FA cup.
But league wise is he even an upgrade on Moyes? Thats before you even get into the toys out the pram moments he seems to have at every club.
There are warning signs with him.

Shut up you proven bigot.

Let’s assume for a moment we ultimately finish 13th on or around 48 points (same as last season).

Do people think TFG keeps or remove moyes.

Pro - In hunt for europe till least end of Feb, no relegation, some notable away wins and improvement in defence (despite no full backs)

Con - ultimately Finished around where we did last season so no progress, wasted 100 million (Dibling, Aznou, Rohl). Poor cup runs, decline in home form, goals scored one of lowest in league.

My immediate view is that we haven't wasted any money on those players. They remain talented footballers.

The club invested in talented youthful players (as they should) and as yet, the manager they appointed has steadfastly refused to play them. It's becoming some perverse badge of honour for Moyes to not get them involved at a time when it's patently obvious the side is crying out for something different.

Hopefully this frustrating pissing contest will continue and TFG decide that the club, and their strategy, and any hint of diminishing player investment value is bigger than one man's determination to fit his archetypical players into the XI no matter what. There will be one winner, and it won't be Moyes.

Not a massive fan of the way he's conducted himself at Palace this season, I agree.. but I do have to also admire him speaking up against the ownership who've clearly sold him down the river with some key player sales with little else done to back him.

He's a far better coach with a much higher ceiling than Moyes, at any rate.

This has been the norm for a few seasons now but it's not surprising. Ndiaye is a great player but he's never been a good goalscorer (in the PL) and neither has Grealish really. We also added a rookie striker to be our main man and the backup winger we signed wasn't a good goalscorer either.

Aswell as adding capable attacking fullbacks this summer we really need to buy a winger and a forward that score goals.

After two losses Moyes dissenters have momentum on online forums like this.

In the general media and outside the club there is a general feeling hes doing a brilliant job.

In terms of expectations:

A) It seems a lot seem to think we are below where we should be with this squad.

B) We are about Par.

C) We are punching a bit were we should be with this squad - im probably here.

Personally I'm happy enough, sure defeats are disappointing etc - but big picture i said id be happy with competing for Europe this season and we are - so we are about were my expectation was. Some heavy hitters (financially) anyway behind us.

Its been a trend for a long long time, its going to take a while to recover it.

I'd like to see;

Branthwaite and O'Brien centre back.
Gana dropped. Garner in midfield with Dewsbury-Hall as an 8
Ndiaye on the left.
Patterson starting, he's started in wins at Villa and Forest and in Moyes' own words, never let us down. So let's start to prioritise team balance. It's daft to have Branthwaite at left back when we have a left back on the bench, or O'Brien at right back when we have right backs on the bench.

I'd also like to see some more effort into the bigger picture and developing players we've spent a lot of money on, like Dibling, Rohl, Aznou, Alcaraz. That's a lot of money there not getting any time/development.
Spot on mate. The most obvious and reasonable take given the current composition of our squad... yet Moyes is being contrary for some mad reason.

I'm giving him one or two more starting XI's with a basically fully fit squad before I give up on him as our manager.
