2025/26 David Moyes

He made 20 appearances this season and 16 last season. At Flamengo in 2024 he made 18 and at Juventus he made 12 on loan. In the 22-23 for Southampton he made 21, then 26 the next year when they were in the Championship. Juventus didn’t exercise their option to buy and Flamengo wanted shot a year after paying out an 18M fee.
I guess we shouldn’t have bought him then given the trend that was emerging prior

Moyes made the wrong decision because everything has gone downhill the past month or so. We're now sat here left to wonder about the points you raise on giving the others more game time.

But I just thought it was interesting the lads on the podcast raised the points you do yet said Iroegbunam has been a step down from Gueye in the middle of the park. Would this have been what we'd have all said about Dibling and Rohl if they'd kept Ndiaye and Garner on the bench for a couple of weeks?

Being the manager of this club isn't easy. Moyes has got it wrong, but I guess my counterpoint is would playing these young lads a lot more mean he'd have got it right? I'm not convinced.
Think the point they made on there is similar to my feelings, midtable is a lot easier to accept if you feel like progress has been made in other areas.

If those players had been given more game time, whether it went badly or not we would at least know where we're at in terms of our squad going into the summer window. Now going into this window it seems like we have an almost insurmountable task because we've done nothing to integrate the signings from last summer.

They've got a net spend of £120m over five years, so an average net spend per year of £24m. That's a fact, not an opinion, if you consider that disingenuous then I can't help you. Them being good at selling their players is a plus for them, not sure why you think it's some sort of "massaging". Odd take, that.
Their striker cost more than ours.

also a fact.

barry and george got used away at arsenal and stunk the place out terrible.

sometimes a change works out worse.

catch22, again.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, still worth trying new things when the status quo isn't working, though. No point doing the same things over and over again when the same things have stopped working. Don't you think?

So what. So because West Ham have been crap every other team who changes their manager will be

Do you think Glasner or Iraola would get us relegated.
Not the point. Point is that fans are overreacting to the dissapointing endnof the season. They are already ready to sack a manager that obviously is a good fit. Sacking Moyes now would be irrational. Not what we want as a club.

some of us are scarred from recent run in survivals. a bit of surety re survival has been a welcome break. who was coming in to rebuild us and see in BMD whilst firefighting a league campaign with an arm tied behind their back.
last summer we did the business as best we could. need that improvement again.

pickford
??? O'Brien Branthwaite ???
Ndiaye Garner ??? D-Hall Grealish
???

The bare bones of a solid starting eleven is there.
I get the scar tissue but stability is done. We’re not getting relegated next year. Let’s build starting now

Rohl, George and Dibling could have been there in your mock line up above but as they haven’t played we’ve got no idea what we have in them (or had in George’s case).

We have no idea if O Brien will be good enough because he’s not played enough

A lot of teams are in disarray. The longer we strive for stability the more chance these other teams will sort themselves out.

Never once claimed I found Moyes anything other than objectionable. That's fine if you're successful, it won't fly when your basically matching Sean Dyche numbers. No veil of respect from me, I haven't respected David Moyes for at least a decade. Anything else you need clearing up?
please don't be upset if some notice the direction of traffic re your opinion and question if there's an agenda.

dyche didn't win a game in 4 months. comparing he and Moyes is questionable*.

dyche was at no point 4 games from the end of the season in contention for a euro qualifying league spot either. another of those facts.

disingenuous.

Evanilson £40m

Because they've flogged some players to the rs and chelsea (iirc) that net spend has been massaged.
You mean sold players that they were able to replace with a negligible difference in abilities or even bringing better players without it adversely affecting their squad depth or quality, so it's afforded them the capacity to bring in players at a higher fee what an absurd concept

He’s an awful fit. He has no ambitions to win anything. He has no ambition to progress young players. He has no desire to play decent footy

His mentality is the exact opposite of what we need. It’s more that a lot of the fans have really known he wasn’t good enough but too scared to admit it. It was the same with Dyche.

No change in direction. I've been opposed to Moyes from day dot. Didn't want Dyche, don't want Moyes, neither are good enough. Dyche two years ago 48 points earned on the pitch, Moyes now 49, with potentially up to 3 more. Not exactly a sea change. Of course, if you want, you could cherry pick a period within a season to make it seem more stark but you don't like people cherry picking, as you pointed out earlier today.

Everything becomes stick or twist though.

"Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't"

When we get a win the murmurs die down, draw or lose and he's a mentality problem*.
