2025/26 David Moyes

He’s an awful fit. He has no ambitions to win anything. He has no ambition to progress young players. He has no desire to play decent footy

His mentality is the exact opposite of what we need. It’s more that a lot of the fans have really known he wasn’t good enough but too scared to admit it. It was the same with Dyche.
He's not. You were in seventh heaven in the beginning of the season. Then it started to show how thin our squad is.

some of us are scarred from recent run in survivals. a bit of surety re survival has been a welcome break. who was coming in to rebuild us and see in BMD whilst firefighting a league campaign with an arm tied behind their back.
last summer we did the business as best we could. need that improvement again.

pickford
??? O'Brien Branthwaite ???
Ndiaye Garner ??? D-Hall Grealish
???

The bare bones of a solid starting eleven is there.
Kinda like my team.
I kept myko because I think with the right coach he could do well.
I think Dyche wrecked him.
He's solid defensively and I actually think he's been gettig better going forward. Heaven knows what might happen if he played for a more attack minded coach. I think theres even a place for him left of a back 3.
I noticed in the last few games he did really well getting the ball to Ndiaye and then overlapping only for Ndiaye to cut inside and play a square ball infront ot the oppo center backs every time.
I also think KDH playing box to box beside garner is a no brainer.

I don't think you can call the upcoming transfer window insurmountable because Rohl, Dibling and Aznou didn't get much game time. Frustrating but it's obvious Dibling will have to be part of our plans given we spent £40m on him and we've seen enough from Rohl to know he'll be in our plans.
Yeah fair insurmountable is strong and I agree, Dibling is going have to be playing next season. To put it more simply - If those players had played more regularly this season I would be a lot less frustrated and have a lot more time for Moyes. Even if our points total was exactly the same.

I just don't feel like we've really built towards anything this season now Europe isn't happening.

Not the point. Point is that fans are overreacting to the dissapointing endnof the season. They are already ready to sack a manager that obviously is a good fit. Sacking Moyes now would be irrational. Not what we want as a club.

Its also been the direction of travel for the last decade, no manager has stuck more then 18 months here since Boberto, that road has led us to getting progressively worse season on season.

This squad needs another two seasons of spending, its been chronically underfunded for most of the last five seasons, the deficiencies are still there for all to see and often comment on.

Think its pointless debating anyway, CEO has said, hes pretty much going no where.

I saw this on Saturday on football focus, that prospects are in a position to demand millions and a £300k agent fee for staying on at clubs or they'll walk for free. There was a scandal in France about 15 years ago or so where children from Africa (unaccompanied) were being touted as future top players and ending up dumped on the streets (by dirtball agents) because they didn't make it instantly.
Seems the commodification of talent has lead to a dirty deals system where clubs are cutting one another's throats for prospects.

[I didn't notice or cant recall any brexit chatter]
The Brexit angle was regarding UK clubs not being able to sign EU players until they’re 18, so competition for UK youths has become incredibly intense with the big clubs starting to kick off and stockpile the best UK talent. This essentially brings the usefulness of academies for the clubs outside this in to question as no fees are being received.

You can give me crap for hindsight if you like, but I've been banging this drum all season. I've also said, throughout the season, that I'd accept a mid-table finish if we were developing young players and/or a new style of play but we've done neither. We play the same players in the same system regardless of form, regardless of opposition, regardless of results. You bemoan a decade of dilly-dallying but support retaining Moyes who is the king of dilly dally. It makes no sense. Nobody expected us to be smashing the CL spots in our first full season under TFG but a few of us expected to see a coherent plan. This all just seems so familiar.
I'll meet you in the middle, has there been a coherent plan away?

How did you know who would and would not work out at the beginning of the season? that drum you've been banging*.

young players not involved? Moyes blooded JOB, and Tim Iroegbunam and more recently Rohl. Also brought Armstrong back from Preston then hasn't used him a lot. We've moved forwards from last season, do you accept that we were in the running for a euro place with 3 games to go?

Well in theory the set up they have at Bournemouth is what we're trying to copy with our set up. Multi club model with shared data and scouting. Manager has a lot of influence on transfers and identifying players that suit his system.

Not saying we're doing it as well as they are but thats definitely the idea behind how how we've set the club up under TFG, how we're working with Roma and random stuff like the 'strategic partnership' with Nagoya Grampus. If we're copying them why not just steal their guy to do it for us.
Because their set up extends beyond one man?

Discourse is not futile Im going to will his sacking into existence through posting numerous times about obviously limitations his as a manager... And hopefully the universe will provide

Such a strange comment. We’ve had a season against which to review the position. Should we have kept Dyche because he’s did well a year previously.

If Moyes became available this Summer do you think Newcastle, Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Forest, Brentford or Palace would go for him. He’s not good enough for them he’s not good enough for us.
