No it's not. The ventilator issue is lies upon lies and may as well make it a big lie - 12 000 when there is only 8 000 -typical Goebbels. Same with PPE, no real 'kit' forthcoming despite the Tories saying there is. Same with testing - 5 000 to 10 000 to 25 000 to 250 000 per day eg.. Big Goebbels lies.

Wartime censorship so as not to dent 'moral' is the situation the UK is in. With the MSM playing their 'part'. And only allowing 'tried and tested' journalists to ask questions during Johnson's briefing.

Remember the '10,000 new nurses!'. Then as soon as the first question was asked about them it was shown up for the absolute sham it was.

I used to be a case investigator and as soon as you found out a person had lied they then became an unreliable witness and you could throw their witness statements away. When the hell did we become a society that accepts being lied to by the people who have been elected to govern us?

Also notice NHS workers are now being treated as the new army. Tell the world what heroes they are whilst not providing them with any of the resources you should to keep them safe.

I'm sorry but with his track record for dishonesty, I wouldn't believe him if he told me his name was Boris.

All politicians tell porkies but at a time like this nothing other than the cold truth should be given to the public, we are adults, after all, is said and done. Johnson left all talk about flooding to the environment minister as it was his job, why then are we addressed, Churchcillian style, every night by this glory grabber when it seems we have insufficiencies across the board and deaths are being covered up despite his claims to the contrary. I wonder if the health secretary has refused to lie openly to us all

Have you seen some of these adults moaning because our future King who is over 70 and displaying symptoms has been given a test. Or those other adults who if you point out that the virus originated in Wuhan accuse you of Racism. People have forgotten precisely what the enemy is here and seem happier scoring political points over their own government, who are having to deal with this issue.....

Where are you getting that from? That's not what is coming from the president of the Robert Koch Institute as I've posted above.

"Richard Pebody, the High Threat Pathogens Infectious Hazard Management team leader at the World Health Organisation Regional Office for Europe, said the difference could be due to differences in counting cases."

As NHS workers have said, 'cannon fodder'. This is Johnson's 'war moment'. Johnson thinks this 'war' will be won on the grass verge of parliament green'.

There’s absolutely right and wrong here - the Government (any government) needs to collate and distribute accurate data to allow itself to be successful. That data has to be accurate and not tinkered with, otherwise people use it to make decisions which end up being wrong. There is no reason in Gods earth why any family should or even would refuse consent for a deceased person to be recorded as dead from a disease like this.

This unprecedented crisis is asking most of us to obey really draconian measures to keep us all safe. If they start undercounting the deaths, people are going to question more whether these measures are necessary and increasingly start to circumvent them.

To actually be doing this whilst they are also telling cops to talk to, fine and if that doesn’t work drag people to jail if they refuse to comply with these conditions is the definition of wrong.

In fact it may be the worst thing they’ve done so far in a crisis that they’ve messed up continuously.

Its a personal opinion i suppose i'm in two minds about it, i can see the human side, but also the suspicion it creates, its maybe 51%/49% right or wrong depending on your point of view.

To answer one of your points surely the government have the information anyway to make decisions, they will know the cases that didnt give consent.

I wouldn't be a supporter of BoJo in any way in fact, i think hes incompetent and i worry about the direction he has taken the UK and do think that this loophole does meet his political needs, but i do think it doesn't change things drastically to cause mass fear or panic. Id be surprised if they concealing 1000s of deaths or even 100s, if they were that would be scandoulous boarding on criminal, as much as i dont like BoJo i dont think hes that bad.

There are also other laws like GDPR that need to be respected or else the whole kit and kobbdle descends into anarchy or you really are living in a dictatorship state if all laws and rights can just be wiped out on a whim.

Whens this from yesterday or has it always been this way?

i'd imagine it's utter bollocks mate, like most of the stuff that's being reported. I live in a small village and i must know of about 20 people who know somebody who has tested positive... which of course is utter crud.

people for some reason don't want to believe a government which has shown up to now a willing readiness to allow the British public to carry on as normal as possible with their lives and seem to not want the draconian measures that the rest of Europe seems to be implementing.

Are we sure the Germans are doing this? I'm pretty sure their equivalent to CMO was saying in one of his media updates that they're counting ALL those who die with corona as corona deaths regardless of whatever illness they have. Where does it say they're excluding them?

I'm not sure Germany are massaging the figures. I was responding to the poster saying 'Germany did it'. I expect as you say, Germany are including ALL.

can't read it due to paywall. From what I can read not sure whether Pebody is speculating or confirming that Germany is counting that way. If he's confirming then either he or the Robert Koch Institute are telling porkies.

Is he? Ok, I'll take your word for it. The point to remember here, is it's important that all views are represented. Links are important to educate people. And then essentially decide for yourself.

Whether CEO's stated to flee, I don't know. But this is a fact. Some members of the senate started to offload their portfolios in January. What did they know that we don't?

Sling mud all you want but back it up. We can have an informed discussion here without dismissing posts you don't agree with. Cause honestly that's the actions of a nutcase.

I could have deleted the post. I didn't. I gave my opinion after I read his blog and then read his about page and did about 5 minutes of Google.
That is how you educate yourself.

No, you're basing that on what the media is saying based on us hitting the same numbers as Spain, but our rate of spread has not been as severe, so in reality we will have a much smaller curve. It's the rate of change in the number of cases/deaths that are key, not the absolute numbers.

Andrew Bolton on Sky News said in London, but if it's 90k already tested in the UK, I'd want people over 60 to be at the top of the list, they are the group dying.

I have no problem with Charles being one of the 90k, his age determines he's eligible and it's warranted if he's showing symptoms, which he was.
90% of those tested have proved negative. Not a word said.

The future King of England (if he actually survives this which much now be a big doubt) actually tests positive and there is a national uproar. You couldn't make it up.

The hit to the economy is beginning to feed through.

US weekly Jobless claims came in at 3.28m, which is about a 4 fold increase in its previous peak, and about 5 fold from the peak of the financial crisis.
Singapore Q1 GDP print was -10.6% down from previous quarter
