Personally believe PMs need to be impressive in these situations, a basic requisite one might say. Tonight he was better, however, these COVID 19 community hubs that he was talking about have been self developing for days now. Certainly since Tuesday... He is a PM of little or no substance.
I was never a fan of the Irish Taoiseach (PM ) leo Varadkar but he handled himself mightily impressively during this crisis
Tony Hoolohan the Chief Medical Officer has become one of the most respected men in Ireland due to the way he has handled this

I think lots of people are - not only that, but the really low German death rate as well (though in that case its probably down to sauerkraut).
Germany has four times the number of ventilators available within their health system compared to ours with less than an extra fifteen million people.

They're already close to procuring an extra 25%, so basically they're far more prepared.

Almost certainly it was just the flu or a cold.

We only saw deaths this month, so I find it unlikely that people had this 3months ago.

I myself am only just getting over a cough Ive had for what seems like 6 weeks.
From when though were we able to test for it as a cause of death?

Its as old fashioned as anything with a clean tea towel over your head with any menthol oil added to boiling water and you inhale the steam for clearing the airways - lungs in particular - with paracetamol perhaps a great idea late pm and mid am ....... daily - eyes might water a bit but yes it will do no harm - when that Sars was about my wife and daughter were ill for an age antibiotics the lot for weeks never touched it whatever they had, but the symptoms where Sars like - they did that for a week and it cleared away slowly a big improvement......3 GPs at the practice - the last one recommended that - an older GP ;)
Happy dance

Chloroquine is dangerous, toxic drug. People in hospitals have died taking it.
It has barely started clinical trials. Stop over hyping it.

You any idea on what sort of dosage they're looking at in trials mate ?

I can remember taking chloroquine phosphate weekly ( 500mg I think ? ) some time ago when the mossies in the part of the world I was in weren't resistant to it, so I was a bit surprised when I read about the overdosing. From memory, 1g could give you problems, but you had to take 1.5g or more before it got really serious ?

Maybe, but I find it astonishing that no one seems to be commenting on it or looking into it, when it potentially provides such a useful comparative case study

No it doesn’t. If you die tomorrow, an autopsy will be done to determine if you had corona virus or not. Germany doesn’t test dead people for corona virus....apparently....

Why did they think it was going to work ? Yet more words and disastrous results.

I signed on for it fine over the weekend.

But everybody who is self-employed now needs to hold on.

The changes are coming. There's no need for tens of thousands of people to be signing up for UC just yet - they need to wait until the chancellor gives his update (hopefully this week).

The issue is the above message isn't coming from the government.

That'll be the update of the update then.
