He did. Do you know if they’ve set that up, ready to go?

I don’t, in fact the government said they haven’t even recruited the people yet (as of May 1st):

Yep I'm not disagreeing just pointing out that he did say that.

How it gets done (and if) is obviously the big question and I don't exactly have faith that they will do it either.

Still nothing on national antibody testing

**shakes head**

Not a priority in restarting the economy so long as Karen gets a swab test despite not showing any symptoms because her fella works on the bins.
"Game changer" I hear...

HanCOCK 6 weeks ago:

“So we’ve now bought 3.5 million antibody tests. That will allow people to see whether they have had the virus and are immune to it and then can get back to work. Those will come online very soon. In fact, our new testing facility in Milton Keynes opened today and we are therefore on the ramp up of the testing numbers.”

It's also much easier to control, advise & monitor 100 people compared to 100,00 people.
Agree but you also tend to have less specialist resources as well which can make them vulnerable if those don’t perform - Iceland seems fortunate that one of their bio labs DeCode was on the ball.

In theory California had a huge testing advantage given the number of bio firms based here but until recently we were well behind even the poor US rates of testing because of backlogs at one lab.

Is it on this thread?

I'm only asking as I'm making an effort to break out of the infamous echo chamber. People being convinced they are 100% correct, and that those with opposite viewpoints hold no legitimacy, is a big issue in modern discourse (exacerbated by the internet). I'm guilty of it myself.

It is, but god only knows where...

Furlough scheme extended till end of October.

No changes to rules and rates until at least 31 July. 80% seems to still apply.

Employers will be able to bring back furloughed workers part time from August.

Edit... But sounds like employers would have to pay some of the costs if they bring back people part time. But that is pretty expected I'd have thought.
