But seriously, I am advocating Unsy, and the introduction of all those players, although I'm not suggesting we just put out the 2015 U23's every week.

This squad needs revamping. The Koeman experiment failed utterly. And Ross needs to be brought back in from the cold too.
From the cold?
He's injured.

When I read the original quote of "Beni is better than Schneiderlin( I know it's only one game, but if you stop playing him, you'll never know how capable he is) " it really made my eyes role. Even Unsy had Schneiderlin down to start last night . To say the 19 year old Beni is better than 27 year old Scheirderlin who has played at every level in French football including full international , makes me squirm.
Like a lot of people who post in the Everton Youth thread I've been watching Beni since he emerged at the Dallas Tournament back in March 2016 and I've managed to see him play in all the televised u 23 games this season . He's a wonderful talent who stands out in his age group and after last night's performance deserves all the praise he's received. He also deserves to play more first team games , but more than this he deserves to be allowed to develop at a pace that is dictated by Unsworth and others and not be overhyped beyond expectation. All just my opinion of course.
As usual a well considered post that is bang on the money. What we can say is that Schneiderlin is completely out of form at the minute and really doesn't deserve a first team place at present. Beni was given a chance and he grabbed it with both hands. Big kudos to Unsworth for giving him the opportunity.

Spot on.
We have the brightest young talent in this league, such generation of players are consider once in a lifetime occurance at any club. Remember man utd under ferguson? It didn't happen again for them no matter how hard they tried to build their academy

We are in such a fortunate position that many other club look at us with envy and yet our former manager restrict their playing time. Such a waste if we just sideline them and keep stacking our first eleven with less suitable signings.

Play the kids, the only signing we should make is someone special, cantonaresque special. Not someone who only knows how to kick a dead ball.

Davies
Barkley
Onyekuro
Benin
Lookman
DCL
Kenny
Pickford
Vlasic

They should be the focal point of our team building. We won't get relegated, let this season be a potential development season. Let each and everyone of them play 20 odd games. If Ajax can reach the Uefa final with kids, why can't we develop our own success with kids.
I genuinely don't think Moshiri has any intention of putting in money on the playing side so if we are going to break through then we are going to have to do something different. Developing the excellent group of young players that we have is in my opinion the way I would like to see us go. Will it work, maybe not, but I really think we've got a unique opportunity to give it a go.

Any chance of Bolasie convincing him to play for Congo? Hope he does tbf, will take him out of the spotlight for a couple of years. Look at how Zaha has come on over the last couple of years since he started representing Ivory Coast instead of the odd England call up

Depends who the "rest" are mate. Do we include Dowell? Holgate? Calvert Lewin? Has Tom Davies even been that good this season? Lookman, who for me is clearly the most gifted of the lot
Lookman is definitely the most gifted but if I am to guess which I would put my house on making it at this level it would be Tom Davies and Beni (although I admit the sample size is small).

Lookman is a fantastic dribbler and has that lovely ability to look like he glides with the ball which top players have but he's also a little lightweight, weak defensively and at the moment he plays a little with his head down. All things time will improve but it's just a question of how much they will improve.

I don't see as many weaknesses in Tom Davies and Beni although Davies' long passing and shooting need work and I'm sure Beni also has weaknesses for his position.

I don't include Vlasic in that list. He was bought as a senior player and I think he also has a lot of potential although I'm not sure if he's better as a winger, 8 or 10.

Honestly I'm not sure of the rest. I think they will stay for a couple of years and then get sold but of course they still have time.

Yet another much-hyped prospect comes to nothing. He was okay for the Arsenal game, but since then he's been completely invisible. I forgot he was even on the team.

if anything it will give Schneiderlin a kick up the a**e to up his game. Competition is only good in the squad and the young lads are the best option to lift the squad

Hope he starts on Sunday, was better than morgan has been and gana hasn't been the same since being shifted about.
Solid dm in the making and a great debut.

I love how we have invested in youth in the transfer windows and look forward to seeing more come though to the first team

Sigh , I sometimes wish I was an ITK, then when I read posts that I haven’t a clue what they are on about I could “like” and reply with one of those wavy hand Thingys . But maybe sometimes ignorance is bliss.
