Lookman is definitely the most gifted but if I am to guess which I would put my house on making it at this level it would be Tom Davies and Beni (although I admit the sample size is small).

Lookman is a fantastic dribbler and has that lovely ability to look like he glides with the ball which top players have but he's also a little lightweight, weak defensively and at the moment he plays a little with his head down. All things time will improve but it's just a question of how much they will improve.

I don't see as many weaknesses in Tom Davies and Beni although Davies' long passing and shooting need work and I'm sure Beni also has weaknesses for his position.

I don't include Vlasic in that list. He was bought as a senior player and I think he also has a lot of potential although I'm not sure if he's better as a winger, 8 or 10.

Honestly I'm not sure of the rest. I think they will stay for a couple of years and then get sold but of course they still have time.
Who cares? He isn't there to defend and he works hard enough for it to not be a problem. Also Vlasic definitely isn't a central midfielder. Winger or 10

On Beni it was a good showing and he should stay around the team even when everyone is fit.

Harsh on Vlasic that. He’s just turned 20 and has been one of our better players this season wherever he’s been used. I think he could play anywhere across midfield to be honest.

I wonder if in future years the challenge on Ampadu will be up there with the photo of Barkley and Stones playing against each other in the Championship? I.e. both will be successful at a higher level. Ampadu is a super player for 17 and they played against each other a couple of months back when our U23s beat them 3-0. Ampadu was playing as a centre back and Beni scored a well taken goal with a low shot. But the man of the match that night wasn’t either of them or even Hazard who played but Liam Walsh. Walsh’s cross created an own goal and then with a bit of strong mid field play he created the opening for Beni’s goal. Then he went on loan , got injured and when an opportunity came up that perhaps he would have expected to fill , Beni took it and made the most of it. That’s football eh.

if anything it will give Schneiderlin a kick up the a**e to up his game. Competition is only good in the squad and the young lads are the best option to lift the squad

I agree with this, nothing better to spur a player on than seeing a hungry younger player waiting to get on.
This type of competition is something we've missed for years, having 11 regular players and a load of lesser duffers on the bench, in case we get an injury.
There should be tactical switch on the bench but also a couple of younger players who can keep the pressure on,
also 'keep a winning team' philosophy so it creates momentum, and not switching back to more experienced players at the first chance
(yes I know we don't have a winning team yet)

Walsh has missed two opportunities like that. When Unsworth took over last time and put Davies in, Walsh was at Yeovil. You wonder, with sliding doors moments if they may have cost him a little, perhaps fatally.

I asked my wife the other night who she thought Everton's best player was. 'Baningime' she said. 'I will in a minute, love,' I replied, 'but tell me who you think our best player was first.'

I bet you he will play there for us a some point this season.

If Arsenal can't carry Ozil we certainly can't carry Lookman.

What. The. Hell??!!??

Disgusting that he’s been dropped today after that incredible performance against Chelsea. That’ll absolutely destroy his confidence now. Well done lard arse Unsy. He’s destroyed a young player way sooner than Koeman did.

Joke.

Good attempt, only way unsy could destroy this lads confidence would be to bring Charlie Adam in in January

if he's too fragile to handle being chosen as a sub after one decent game, behind our most consistent player over the past two years, then he isn't remotely cut out to be a premier league player

there are so, so many actual things to moan about this year - why resort to such nonsense?

or you're a troll, I hope?
