I remember discussing depression with someone on here ages ago, and they were basically saying that because footballers are rich then they have no right to have depression.
Hope he/she thinks differently now.

Although it's a sad story, I'm encouraged to see the support people on here are giving a fellow human being. Shows that Mental Health is gradually becoming de-stigmatised.

Also heartwarming to see other sports people stepping forward with encouraging and supportive words.... sometimes social media can be a wonderful thing.

Get well soon Aaron. Lot's of people want to see you well and playing the game you love. There is no shame in being unwell.

very sad to see. hope he can recover well. he's the reason for me why we didn't finish any lower than 11th in martinez second season

Best of luck Aaron, mental illness is a cruel illness which a lot of people never understood years ago, I think just by reading the messages in here you can see that stigma has lifted and I'm sure he will have loads of support from Evertonians and the wider footballing community, it won't seem like it now but he will probably help so many people seek their own help

Best wishes

Hope he gets the help he needs. doesn't matter how rich or successful you are everyone needs assistance and support.

Only have to see the amazing people on our own mental health thread in here to see how compassionate and helpful people can be if people have the courage to speak out.

puts a lot of stuff in perspective

Best not to speculate what happened mate. But 136 means he wasn't forced to go anywhere he didn't want to go. Sort of thing.
136 is gives the police the power to take the person to a place of safety agaimt there will where they can be assessed further possibly for an admission to hospital there were real concerns for his safety hope he gets through thia

Hate to think what the cause of this will be, worrying it got so far without anyone helping until now.

Hope the lad gets better, a good pro and more importantly part of the family, take all the time you need.

Just going off what the wife said as she deals with this kind of thing on a daily basis. I wouldn't have a clue really.

As long as he's in the right place to get the help he needs that's all that matters.
