Aaron Lennon

If the 'papers are to be believed Aarron is suffering from an anxiety-related condition. My son's life was essentially wrecked due to anxiety and the depression that followed. He had a great job and a good life, but out of the blue he just got ill. He didn't drink or take drugs - it just happened. Thankfully he's now recovering but he went through a torrid time.

My thoughts are with Aarron and his family at this awful time.

I'm very happy to hear he's recovered, must have been horrifying for you and your family.

Just caught up with the news, genuinly shocked by it although am glad that Aaron is now in a place where he can get the help he needs.

Perhaps a little good might come out of a sad situation if it gets some others who were suffering to come forward or a friend/relative to identify issues before they get to such a serious state.

Feel for the lad, always thought he was an under-utilized player and hoping that if he gets back to feeling up to playing, he's given another shot in the blue shirt. Above all, glad he's getting the help he needs and it'll make him a better person/player in the end.

Not sure if anyone has already asked and been answered, but under what circumstances do the police or some related body feel it appropriate to publicize something like this? the initial reports read a bit like a police statement.

Of course the abundance of well-wishers mean well, but why is this sort of thing allowed into the public domain? as far as I know he hasn't hurt anyone, and I don't think for a minute this would have been sanctioned by Aaron himself.

Saddened and shocked to read about Aaron this morning. Timely reminder that these guys are just human beings and as vulnerable as everyone else of suffering with Mental Health issues.

Saw the mail spouting "50k a week star is.."

Disgusting really, the guy needs help on an issue which doesn't need anymore stigma.

Met Aaron after a game last season and he seemed like a top guy. Heart goes out to him and anyone else in the same position as him. Get well soon mate.

Some of the media need to shut the **** up and go report some other crap, stop exploiting Lennon.

I agree that some of the reporting is unedifying, but the fact it is getting publicity is good news, there was a time when this sort of story would be suppressed and mental health issues swept under the carpet. I wish him well and anyone else similarly afflicted.

We had that clown Brazil this morning on Talksport idly speculating that Aaron's problem might be linked to his being out of the team for so long. "We've all been there" was the theme.
