I’m not that bothered usually watching England in friendlies but watched out of curiosity last night to see how JG was perceived by the Sky6 biased media. Egg’s earlier post about the conversation between two of the presenters sums it up...

….just watching the Sky Sports summary on Sky News with Jackie Beltrano who said none of the fringe players did themselves any good last night. The main presenter said, ‘I thought the bloke who played on the left did well, who was that?’ she...

Thelwell did a decent job here, certainly one of our better recent appointments.

When’s the latest date that the Sunderland fixture can be revised? Got two Dutch mates who need to book flights etc - they’ve had a season ticket between them for nigh on 20 years and were regularly at Goodison but due to all the fixture changes...

Don’t ever use the word roster in a football context again if you expect to be taken seriously. There’s no earthly reason to move Tim on. He’s put in some excellent performances this season and should establishing himself as a starter next season.

I think we should move Tim on as well. Not good enough and we create space on the roster. Probably would get a decent fee for PSR as well since he is still young and didnt cost too much.

Saha scored after 25 seconds. Don't think Distin arrived until later that summer.

Why? I'd be quite happy to close down our entire academy and never buy a player under 25 provided we keep winning.

It was a perfect storm yesterday that resulted in the Hill Dickinson Stadium finally feeling like The Old Lady - the atmosphere pre-match with the team welcome and the South Stand 1878's flags, the brilliant vocal support for the whole 90 minutes...

He was outstanding. His highlights were: 1. Booking Garnacho for moaning about O'Brien bullying him! 2. Removing the match ball at the start, so that they were unable to have their huddle round it! His all-round decision-making was very good.

A bit sad at the booing for Barry, when he came on. He’s a young man, who made mistakes. In contrast the booing of the PL anthem was epic. Just got home, honestly that is the way to go to the game. Drive to town, park up, hit the pubs, go the...

Quite the most like Goodison day at HD so far. Crowd were well up for it and so were the players, best we have been at HD. Brought 4 guys from Poland to the match today, it makes you understand the transient fan engagement when you see how much...
