Do we need an anthem?

Been thinking of this for ages now. Dare I say it Liverpool before every game get every tv company to keep quiet whilst they sing you’ll never walk alone, even Arsenal now have North London forever.

As much as I love z cars as it’s our tradition it does do my head in that we don’t really have an intimating style anthem that gets everyone on their feet singing before a game. I love spirit of the blues but we only tend to belt that our if we are winning.

Any ideas? Oh and there’s she goes just doesnt cut it for me, just a song, nothing to do with Everton.

They need to do away with those sirens. They're embarrassing...and stupid given the blitz associations - as where we are right now was one of the targets.

The TV companies have started to totally blank the z cars and teams coming out by talking over it any displaying the team photos. Imagine them doing that over at the pit.

I disagree mate, I think it’s ok as long as it’s not over used.

Agree, bit past their sell by date now. Just don't sound right when they get played these days, sounds like you are at some sort of military reenactment day.

We don't need an anthem...we intimidate through absolute stadium silence with occasional boos and groans when someone doesn't pull off a risky through ball.

The sirens we were told were to be sparingly used: now it's every game and lost any impact it was said to have had.

Owners - they're all rubbish I suppose: someone like Carter at least had the good grace to know his own mind and not listen to idiot fans to sack a manager on the verge of greatness...although he did drive the PL circus onto a reality...

Those sirens need binning though. They're an insult to the memory of so many people who died in air attacks.

Yep. The regular roar associated with the sirens died a few seasons back. I've never heard Goodison louder than the first derby they were used at.

It won't go anywhere though, for any sort of reset, just cos the likes of the 1878s love it
