We used to sing Liverpool Lou at school. That's an anthem and we should - despite the word Liverpool - use something as organic as that.

Been thinking of this for ages now. Dare I say it Liverpool before every game get every tv company to keep quiet whilst they sing you’ll never walk alone, even Arsenal now have North London forever.

As much as I love z cars as it’s our tradition it does do my head in that we don’t really have an intimating style anthem that gets everyone on their feet singing before a game. I love spirit of the blues but we only tend to belt that our if we are winning.

Any ideas? Oh and there’s she goes just doesnt cut it for me, just a song, nothing to do with Everton.

I have been saying that for some time even the ref waits for the end before blowing

Exactly this. They can stay silent for that song over at the pit all they like. The media think they are everyones 2nd team, nothing could be further from the truth.
Genuine football fans know their horrific history.
So I agree, we should never try to become one of the media darlings, genuine football fans either like or at least repect Everton fans.

No. The dirge across the park and North London forever are cringey as anything. Two completely delusional narcissistic fanbases desperately trying to manufacture atmosphere because they’ve become tourist FC.

Everton should just focus on winning more games and the atmosphere would improve: Z cars and the siren are more than enough and the club can’t even get the timing of that right half the time.

A few points:

1/ There's nothing wrong with songs that come directly from the people. Grand Old Team was a song originated in Liverpool schools; Z-Cars was grafted onto the club by some divvy in the Moores regime.

2/ Some have suggested dedicated singing sections: an abomination IMO and as cosmetic as you can get.

3/ North London Forever is unbelievable tat

4/ YNWA was first sung by Man United fans after the Munich air disaster in '58

Play the usual match day songs before kick off, remove the siren, have a 30 second pause to get the full effect from the Z Cars drums. That's what needs to hit the hardest.

For big games, I'd get rid of the songs leading up to kick off and that's where the fans should create the noise. I'd want the players to hear that in the dressing room.
