It was a perfect storm yesterday that resulted in the Hill Dickinson Stadium finally feeling like The Old Lady - the atmosphere pre-match with the team welcome and the South Stand 1878's flags, the brilliant vocal support for the whole 90 minutes and the continued buzz coming out of the ground and back into town.
From 1 to 11 (actually 1-42) they played the Everton way....full of commitment, physicality, determination to win every individual battle, no drop in energy and a desire to ensure there was no other result than a victory. Great to see us smell blood and go after it and not let up at 2-0 and 3-0.
The news in the week about Chelseas 'punishment' couldn't have been better timed. Neither could the Sh1te getting beat earlier in the day and the KO being 5.30pm when everyone had sunk a few pre-game with the absolute intention of have a few more celebratory ones post-game.
I'm not Moyes biggest fan but credit where it's due that was the way we want to see our team approach games....no inferiority complex, no fear of anyone and just go out and play to our strengths irrespective of the result because if we play with that intensity and desire week-in, week-out we'll win more than we lose.
Only one negative yesterday and that was the booing of Thierno Barry. The kid messed up big time and made a mess of how he dealt with it after the event, but at the end of the day he's one of our bigger investments and we need to protect that and mould him into what we want.
MOM has to be Beto but a big shout to for Mykelenko who was magnificent.

This is a genuine quote from Rosenior about yesterday's game.

"We played 4-4-2, which I thought was actually very good. We controlled their possession and they didn’t expect it, they ended up kicking the ball back to us a lot of the time and then we gained control of the game."

Just a reminder, they lost 3-0.
Lets not criticize too much remember we had a manager who once said "the run isn't bad on paper if you add a few wins to it"
