Replicate that atmosphere at the derby and they won’t know what’s hit them.
We’ve got momentum now.
The side is performing like a true team. We lost at Arsenal but gave them the toughest test they’ve had at home for many months for 85 minutes. We have 9 points out of 9 and an 8-2 GD otherwise in our last 4.
We are tough to break down, as we showed in turning Chelsea into a pack of crabs playing from touchline to touchline 30 yards out. Garner is the boss of the park. We’re showing menace going forward.
Ndiaye and
KDH are constant threats. We seem to be learning how to supply Beto, whose work ethic and heart have never been in doubt but is now showing the nose for goal that good strikers have. And the rest of the world can crap on Pickford, including all the pundits who killed him for his Arsenal mistake, when we all know that he probably nets us 10+ points a season by himself.
We’ve given
Moyes stick for his selection but there’s no denying that he’s got an eleven that is working together back to front as a unit. Even Myko was terrific yesterday both ways. If there was a “weak” showing it was McNeil but he did nothing at all “wrong,” he discharged his positional duties just fine and “only” turned in a solid 6 or 7 without a signature moment.
We’ve only got a game at Brentford before the derby, that could go either way but even if we lose I doubt we’ll crap our pants so badly as to undo the good work we’re doing. Meanwhile they are in crisis and have a cup tie at City and both ends of their home and home in the CL with PSG, plus Fulham in the league. Lots of opportunities there for signature humiliations. Unless they smash through that fixture list, which in current form seems unlikely, they’re showing up at HD on 18 April in rough shape and we will be howling for blood.
Perversely I hope they get a couple of results, enough to keep them from axing Slot in the meantime. He has no idea how to set up the side he has, his man management is poor. He doesn’t feel the derby well enough to truly know what his side is in for if our players take the pitch with the resolve we saw yesterday and the stadium Is seething.
So yeah, im looking forward to it.
