Law of small numbers makes it hard to read too much into anything, but every day we seem to be 5 days / 4 times behind the UK
I'm confusedThe thing there is though that if the disease is more widely spread (and its a big if which must be tested) then you would still see the same filling up of hospitals over the same sort of time period - eg if there are 100000 have been infected in the UK now and 10% have an illness resulting in hospitalization, this will be the same as if a million have it but only 1% have it that bad they need hospital treatment.
The disease is obviously spreading in the UK but the state of the spread is something that must be determined asap.
There are slight differences in the genetic makeup of the virus, some are more dominant in geographic regions than others.
Seen some speculation that there might be differences in their harmfulness but not aware of any study so far that has evidence one way or the other so for now no proof and might just be more to do with the demographics of the underlying population exposed.

SF seems to have vanished off the face of the earth during this crisis

I have the impression you were intending to contradict but ended up saying the same thing
My missus is in a Les Mills gymI have no idea other than soldiers on the streets.
And even then there isn't enough to cover everywhere.
Look, I'm pretty sure even in a 'lockdown' here people will still be allowed to go out on a walk or a run or whatever. There's enough open space in places outside the major cities. I mean, that's the sensible approach.
And it's the one Johnson has tried to take today. But obviously it relies on people to use a bit of common sense.
Up until Thursday I was using the indoor gym that I go to. A small hotel gym which doesn't get very busy (it's why I go there). It was dead last week the three times I went. I'm missing it but can get by. When I went I was extra careful to clean everything down before and after use. Now I'll go on a run or a walk when it's likely I'm gonna avoid people. With the weather nice and the clocks going forward soon that's going to be easier too, plus I'm not at work in the day so can get out in the afternoon.
I just think that's a sensible approach and tbh it's the only thing that's gonna keep me sane if we're locked down for the next however many weeks.
And laying off journalists. In fact, are they 'essential'?
Can anyone enlighten me as to why I've received this today? I am in my twenties , healthy, only visited once to hospital about anxiety. Do you think it's a wrong number situation? View attachment 81681
