It’s odd . You’d expect us to be in the “ no you can’t play him , he needs an op” camp , as it won’t affect us this season but may well do if he needs an op next season. I had a knee op 3 weeks ago and prior to it did a lot of reading , consensus was have the op , get it done , though there were a few stories about people who managed the injury by strengthening various leg muscles. So there will always be differing opinions. I would add that it was a different type of knee injury, and come to think of it completly irrelevant to this debate .

Well I hope we go to an absolute knee specialist for the final assessment.

Harry Charsley going to Bolton on loan.
A great move for him, but a tough gig with Bolton in a relegation scrap. I like Charsley , skilful, gives his all , can play in multi positions .....but I’ve never got the sense that he was good enough to get into our 1st team squad. Hopefully he gets enough games to show he can make it as a Championship player. He’s got Antonee Robinson for company too of course.

you'd think it would be a permanent move but i suppose they want to have a look at him first and maybe make it perm in the summer.

Seems like a good opportunity for Charsley. He will definitely need to move on to get first team football, but I think he can have a career starting lower.

You'd hope we/he won't be so dumb trying to get himself to a World Cup at the risk of permanent damage. At his age he'll get another chance.

It's the working permit I think. If he doesn't play this season it's very unlikely he somehow gets one. Still long-term should be the number one priority.

Galloway to be recalled apparently
Unsurprising, but very welcome news - I still think he could be the player we hoped Stones would become. He needs to get his confidence back, and hopefully he'll find a way to keep it through future challenges.

Getting rinsed by championship wingers on a weekly basis is not a good look for someone you think could be better than stones

Hopefully just a loan for experience. Most guys playing "PL2" have the talent / potential, but Charsley seems to have a work ethic. Even more importantly he plays deep, but has a knack for turning up at the right time and scoring goals - often unspectacular, and often the reason for winning.

This Dowell to Nottingham loan has paid huge dividends for us. Hopefully it's the start of a good relationship with the club. If we bring in another striker or two, I wouldn't mind sending Sandro there.

It does seem like a long time since he looked good BUT lots of guys get setbacks.
He's only 21 and has lost a season and a half on two loans that didn't work out - he has hardly kicked a ball during most of that time. He has to learn from what has gone wrong, but IF he can there is the makings of a great player there.

I’m puzzled by this work permit criteria. The other day Aberdeen took on loan Man City ‘s 21 year old Nigerian forward Childi Nwakali . City signed him after Nigeria won the U17s World Cup, he’s been out on loan ever since most recently in Norway as they couldn’t get a work permit.
Aberdeen are currently waiting for a work permit to be granted. Like Henry Onyekuru, Nwakali hasn’t played regularly for Nigeria, in fact he hasn’t played at all, I think Henry has at least one cap. And like Henry he also is hoping to go to the World Cup. I’ll watch this with interest to see if Nwakali gets a permit .
