I empathize with any family with a poorly child. But the truth remains regardless of where he plays his child will be taken care of. Whether in this country on the NHS or further afield privately. It is not an issue.
People travel from all over the U.K and further for treatment at Alder Hey and due to his more affluent position than most he is more capable than of affording it.
To finish we cannot afford to pay his wage and not have him play. It could be going to another very much needed addition to the team.
I have to agree good post Deepak I think its all to do with pride and integrityI think Deepak is correct. This man has been paid probably the best part of £3m for doing nothing very much. If he can't play because of his daughter then surely he should agree to leave the club. It's not like he needs the money.

Damn right..and to think he still draws his wages each week, the wastrel should be ashamed of himself. In all seriousness thats a shocking appearance record for a 28-year old professional footballer, what a waste of space!
Ajax 91
FC Twente 32
Internazionale 32
Everton 18
Too late Bill, way to lateIf he's healthy, then we ought to try and get some return on our investment.
Too late Bill,way to late
He could play 50 games for us next season, playing a blinder in everyone, even saves a cup final penalty after Timmy gets sent off then run the ball down to the other end and scores with an over head kick it wouldnt be enough for me.
The man should have been cut loose last summer while we had a few bob,if and no doubt it would have, cost us to terminate his contract then so be it,the mans a waster and its time for the club to fess up to one of thier biggest mistakes and stop leading him and us on.
VDM is not a hard up single parent trying to hold down a job... he need never work again

being harsh, everton fc is not a charity. it's our money that goes towards the players wages.
VDM is not a hard up single parent trying to hold down a job while his child is sick. he need never work again being in the current climate of 1 years wage setting you up for life in the prem.
i find it a bizarre situation he is still on the books. as arsene wenger said yesterday, it's gone to the dogs. good players are always trying to leave for more money and bad players are happy to stay and do nothing.
we should call the players on it. i'm not going to give VDM a pat on the back for taking 5 million out of EFC.
