Too late Bill,way to late

He could play 50 games for us next season, playing a blinder in everyone, even saves a cup final penalty after Timmy gets sent off then run the ball down to the other end and scores with an over head kick it wouldnt be enough for me.

The man should have been cut loose last summer while we had a few bob,if and no doubt it would have, cost us to terminate his contract then so be it,the mans a waster and its time for the club to fess up to one of thier biggest mistakes and stop leading him and us on.

Fair enough but Everton supporters better get used to the simple fact that if Moyes felt the exact same way that the supporters did, he'd have been shown the door a long time ago.

For whatever reason (and we can all continue to speculate until the cows come home about what those reasons are), Moyes has kept him on.

Since that is the inescapable fact with VDM, we now have two options:

1) Not play him and let him continue to be a drain on club resources or:

2) Play him and try to get back at least some return on our investment.

Common sense business says try to get back some return on our investment before we part ways with him. Take a step back from the emotional aspect of it and you'll see that there's really no other conclusion to be had when it comes to his contract.

Spot on. I don't see the problem in using him as a squad player and I think Moyes will.

He said earlier on in the season shandy was back in contention and if he hadn't have been injured would have played against AZ Alkmaar.

He'd be a useful squad player to have if he got himself in the right shape. With 7 subs available I could see him getting around the first team.

looking at the team who flew out to switzerland, id say vdm will get a game against fc sion on saturday.

Travelling party: Turner, Ruddy, Baines, Lescott, vd Meyde, Johnson, Vaughan, Jagielka, Neville, Valente, Osman, Irving, Rodwell, Kissock, O'Kane, Agard, Jutkiewicz, Baxter, Sinnott, Molyneux.

(no gosling for some reason ?)

P.S.

I will laugh my ass off if he ends up somehow playing an integral part this year and becomes so valuable that Everton offer him a three year deal.

Am i alone in forgeting about his unprofessional behaviour, lack of commitment, and questionable injury record, in saying anytime he has played he been [Poor language removed]!

I mean its not like hes been marginlised or anything perhaps the reason he doesnt play is because hes basicly not up to it, thats just my opinion and ive seen every game hes played for us!

Hes never really going to be ahead of Arteta, Pienaar and Osman, he couldnt even displace Kilbane.

If his name was Dave Plumber, wed all think he was crap!

He was never [Poor language removed]. Every time he played he gave a good account of himself. We saw flashes of what he could give us but he was never able to sustain it due to his lack of fitness.

I think naturally he's one of the most talented players at the club. I prefer the likes of Arteta, Osman and Pienaar though.

Hopefully Van der Meyde will pull something out of the bag this season. He is in last chance saloon (not just for us but for his career) no one has seen him play regulary for almost the last four seasons so there will be no one keen to sign him. He's got to do something special this season to put himself in the shop window and I hope he does it.

I have to disagree mate, i really cant see someone with that level of natural talent being left on the bench, out of the squad by Moyes for such a long period of time, regardless of injuries etc. Hes just a non starter which suggests their aur better players at the club. Moyes has proved in the past hes not one to hold a grudge and if it was in the best intrests of the team he would be a starter.

Honest opinion, i dont rate him at all as a player, i dont think he has much to contribute and i havnt seen any of his natural talent in a blue jersey. I am not being couloured by the circumstances of his time with us,but on an honest appraisal of games i have seen him play. Despite willing him to be a word beater hes simply not. I dont think he has the quality or fitness for this level.

To an extent it saddens and frustrates me that some people criticise Nev and Hibbert (only today) but they are two good pros, whiile in the same breath are willing to give AVDM all the chances in the world!

It is a fact a lot of players suddenly spark into life at the tail end of their contract Barmby is a fine example so who knows but Andy seems to lack any enthusiasm .not just here but at his last two clubs aswell I know a few dutch lads who say he is a waster.(y)

He's a total wannk stain an should not be let any were near the squad. Dont care how good he might/could be, i'd fukk him off in an instant. Just as the plane reaches 36,000 Ft open the door an push!!

He's had his last chance ten chances ago. No more, fukk off you ugly dutch beaut.:rant::rant:

He's not a world beater and I agree and I've never claimed that. He's a good player who if fully fit and in the right state of mind could contribute to this team. He'd also offer us something completely different to what we already have.

Moyes has a tendency to play his favourite players and probably always will. Osman was [Poor language removed] the season before last yet the likes of Davies and Van der Meyde who where ready to fill in where hardly played. He also likes to accommodate Phil Neville when it's quite obvious that his form was poor last season and that he isn’t one of our better players. No matter how Neville plays he will always be in the team.

Van der Meyde has never been fit at this club and he’s obviously rubbed Moyes the wrong way from day one. There are many reasons why Moyes wouldn’t have played him. His workrate was also another problem. Moyes never thought he worked hard enough for the team and was a liability away from home. Lots of reasons really.

I’ve seen Van der Meyde have some good games for Everton. The season before last when he came in against the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Blackburn twice and Portsmouth he did a good job and gave us something little different and more positive. Every time he seemed to have a good game he was disrupted. He had an excellent game against West Ham and then was robbed and missed the next game, he had a good game against Blackburn, linked excellently with Fernandes, Cahill and Arteta yet got injured and missed the next game.

Van der Meyde does have the quality for this level. Technically he’s excellent and gives teams alot of width. I’ve got to admit I have had doubts whether he’s suited to English football but I’ve never had doubts about his quality. He’s a talented waster.

Bingo, their you go right their 'IF'. Sorry mate its never going to happen. He's a lost cause an a fukking drain on everton's money!!

I hate the cuunt, wasted so much of our resorses an time. Dont feel sorry for the bell-end. He sleeps in a £1.5m house an drives to work in a farrari.

GET FUKKIN RID....

I thnk we will agree to differ on this one mate, in those games i waasnt that impressed with him, two really bad ones stand out for me against Brum two seasons ago when they were relegated he was awfull, and a carling cup tie against Plymouth he was shocking, i have my doubhts, i hope your right and comes good because he wasnt a vialbe option for us when we have been short of players in the past. I think we may have seen his last appearence in an Everton first team shirt, i would never not get behind an Everton player so if he plays i will cheer him on, i just cant see it though!

Where not talking about that though. I know very well VDM is finished here. Is was joking when I put those Youtube clips up by the way.

I'm arguing that he is talented enough to make it here. That's what me and Neiler are discussing.

The Peterborough game you’re talking about. I agree he was anonymous bar one or two good touches but he hadn't played in ages if remember correctly. Against Brum he was playing through pain if I remember correctly.

The season before last he had some good games I thought. Against West Ham he tore them to shreds for 65 minutes and he put in good performances against Blackburn (twice) and Newcastle. He had a quiet game against Reading if I remember correctly but was our best player against Portsmouth away from home.

We’ve never seen him given a run in the team though or with a full season under his belt so It’s very hard to judge. I saw flashes of what he could have been which tells me he did have the capabilities to make it here. A fully fit Andy Van der Meyde would have been fine in my opinion. I saw him at Ajax and Inter as well and I always thought he was a good player.

Style wise I’ve always had my doubts. He’s got no defensive qualities so he wouldn’t be much use in a 4-4-2. He’s more of a wing forward than a winger and is best used in the 4-3-3 formation. We’ve never actually played that system so we’ve never so him at his best or in his best suited position.

Anyway, agree to disagree. I suppose we’ll never know.
