It's getting more and more difficult to watch what is happening in Ukraine and those poor innocent people, whilst we sit back and do naff all to help. Stuff sanction that allow these rich mofos to move or liquidate their funds before they pinch, and don't really do much else aside from hurting the common, working class people in Russia and across the world.

I also feel sorry for russians who are fighting, and dying, for something they don't want or believe in.

The west should commit armed forces now - the Rubicon has been crossed by that mad russian shithouse, and we should respond in kind - nuclear threat or not. The agressor can continue unabated currently, and the Ukrainians are on their own - Putin won't stop there now, he's too far gone.

We also need to get this pro-russia Tory shower of [Poor language removed] out of office immediately - the entire covid shambles was enough, and bloody Brexit, now this half arsed attempt he is pulling at being like his hero Churchill - I hope the people of this country finally wake up.

I think the "having an effect in Moscow" line from Johnson means "causing mirth and merriment in Moscow". Our government are always first to jump up to say what they are going to do, get positive headlines in the media about it, and then do little nothing. I don't think we have any intention of sanctioning oligarchs or other individual Russians outside a few of Putin's closest cronies. There will be minimal or no seizures of UK properties or other assets. The likes if Usmanov will have little to fear from this country.

there is a very inconvenient truth in what your saying - its insensitive to say at such a time but in such a conversation, necessary - its taken Russia to invade to become united. This is one of the most disputed places on earth, not just externally but internally.
The internal divisions will resurface once peace has been achieved and the dust has settled, which will take sometime, it is likely it will be full blown civil war with many moving parts.
And after the civil war it will be no less stable. The killing and the trauma will continue.
'Not one inch further to the East' I think was the agreement - that was not just meant for the preservation of eastern power but of the horror that would likely come.

I've just read Grand's post and whether or not directed at me I respect this type of thing and revert to my edict not to go into Current Affairs on here, or any other social media for that matter.
I feel strongly about this as you all do. I'm not going to bang on further about the West's hand in all this.
I just leave with the sentiment that ignorance does not do justice to those that are dead or those that will suffer the trauma through the generations.
