How are Russia going to pay for the army to be in Ukraine for 5 months?

you said they couldnt pay for them to be there for 5 more days mate, at least we've got some movement on the timescales from you

Ideally the blacks and greens want to form an alliance there to rid North America of any red, then bolster all the borders and start shifting down to South America and through Greenland into Europe.

I once played Risk with someone that got so wound up with being teamed up on that he booted the board and all the bits into the air and stormed out after threatening our mate. Enjoyable times.

In Russia they got phobia of Europe (especially of Germans in past), and they are convinced that its Europe who historically invading them, Teutonic Knights, Prussians, Napoleon, Germans in WW1 and WW2.

Thats pretty much their reasoning, they want buffer state between them and "enemy" (Europe plus US). Its very much paranoia.

...and im asking how the troops will be paid for that 5month timeframe?

The economic sanctions wont suddenly disappear. The damage already undertaken will already set Russia back 1-2 years even if next week the sanctions are dropped.

Im not sure you fully see the gravitas of whst has happened mate...

And the Russians haven't gone in full force yet.
You really think in 5 months there'll be no sanctions on Russia if they are still occupying Ukraine?
Their football team won't play another game till their out. Seems like a superficial worry but I think the lack of international sport will hit the Russians hard.
Their people will be in a state of complete unrest.

And if they do withdraw, I'm not sure how Putin climbs down, given the Russian casualties.
There could well be regime change and the whole area will be unsettled.

The Russians have set a chain of events in motion that will have global ramifications for years.

Some fair points in there, all I will say is we have Johnson reiterating again and again that we wont get involved - how many of us want to be reminded daily in the news of deaths of civilians that we have no intention of preventing.

I just think this could be filed under 'out of sight out of mind' - like Donbas was.

Putin will not be there forever. Russia will lose economic and therefore political power in the next decades because fossile fuels will be worth much less. Ukraine cannot be limited eternally to the status of a buffer territory, especially since nobody in Europe thinks about invading Russia. If Ukraine wants to be in the EU and it fulfils the conditions (state of the economy, justice system, fight against corruption), it should be.

Zelenskyy puts all of the wests leaders to shame, I look through them all and could not imagine any of them doing what he has done. They’d have all done a runner. Yes, to be fair that’s what a lot of people would do, but on saying that most of us don’t have aspirations to become world leaders do we.? He is somebody to stand up with and an inspiration to the Ukrainian people.
