Additionally the Russians haven’t been sending many planes up - maybe because they don’t need to because the Ukraine air presence isn’t really there, or just maybe they don’t want to provoke talk of a no fly zone
From what I've read, it's because they can't deal with the SAMs on the ground. It would appear that they are very short precision-guided munitions.

More than likely, where we go from here is that they start dealing with the SAMs around Kiev and Kharkiv with what precision munitions they have, then start dropping dumb bombs, artillery shells and rockets on the cities. It would seem that they cannot easily eliminate Ukraine's capacity to make war. That means they need to go after their will to fight. Bombing cities could harden resolve, or it could convince the Ukrainians that further resistance isn't worthwhile. It's hard to say which way that one will break.

It will end up being a forgotten war like Donbas

I can see it now.

And back to getting his oil and gas within a year.
you think this war will end up being a forgotten war.
The first time NATO troops were put in a state of readiness
The first time a Nuclear superpower has put his nukes in a state of readiness
Shell, BP and countless others crippling russian fossil fuel industry
The invasion of the biggest country in Europe.
Half a million refugees so far
The Rubel through the floor, Russian markets in chaos and Russian banks crippled.
Germany dropping it's passive military stance and re arming.
Sweden and Switserland ditching their neutral status.
Russians shelling private citizens live to a global audience.

Yea, just like Donbas

Your saying this type of thing doesn't happen?
That the chances are Assange was not going to get attacked like this. Seriously?

As it is the rape charges have been unfounded and should have been dropped but for US interference and UK compliance.
The label still sticks though, doesn't it.

I'm saying I'm not party to the evidence in the case and judging a rape charge on "I like the guy's politics" seems simplistic to me.

It’s been 5 days mate everyone's excited now.

Let’s see what being said in 5 months when we all have other immediate priorities to deal with.

seems a bit mad to centralize all that power along one highway. Take out a few bridges and the whole thing gets snarled up till they get temp. bridges in place. Let them sit burning gas to keep warm and hit their fuel supplies.
I have no idea about this stuff but this sort of convoy seems like a knee-jerk reaction to the resistance their army already faced.
Would be interesting to know how much resistance this convoy has come up against on its journey. Reports have said that the Ukrainian forces are mainly located around cities plus the donestk and Luhansk regions. Might just be civilian resistance once the convoy passes small villages/towns. Roadblocks, ied’s, who knows.

I see Aleksandr Golovin was 'injured' for Monaco against Reims this weekend.

Will Russian players lose their contracts now in Europe?
Why should they? Are you responsible for your country's actions? As long as they are not enabling or profiting from this, surely we should behave decently to them - we are better than petty recriminations or we will perpetuate similar events and conditions.

Think the point there would be 'his money in Russia' (surely not all of his assets in RF tho) is helping Putin bombing the kids.

I'm not sure your politics have anything to do with your proclivity for rape. Otherwise anybody could get off a charge with their Amnesty membership. Odd take.
no your politics don't determine your proclivity to rape,

but to reduce what Assange was doing as 'politics', well its insulting to any real journalist to do so.

of the rape charges, believe what you want, but please consider what this says about our ability to hold our western governments accountable, when a rape charge is all that's needed to remold consent
especially while we are currently pointing moralising fingers at others.

You asked "Do you think that a man risking his life for the truth, risking his life for others, risking his life for a transparent west, so that we might hold the actions of our own governments accountable - is a rapist"

I only said there's no connection between the two things.

@Kev The Rat

Putin will not be there forever. Russia will lose economic and therefore political power in the next decades because fossile fuels will be worth much less. Ukraine cannot be limited eternally to the status of a buffer territory, especially since nobody in Europe thinks about invading Russia. If Ukraine wants to be in the EU and it fulfils the conditions (state of the economy, justice system, fight against corruption), it should be.
