Funny that everything that shows Russia not doing great is dismissed by you instantly as nonsense, yet if Putin said that a hot air balloon travelling at 4MPH carrying an entire batillian of T90 tanks, 5000 russian soldiers, an armoured train and Kim Jong Un has managed to avoid all ukraine anti air defences and landed on the main square in Kiev
you'd be on here bragging about how much of a master stroke this was by the mother land..

He has 54% of the vote in the latest polling. There's 35 million eligible voters.

I think its pretty safe to assume that if 46% of those polled don't want to vote for him then they don't think he's a hero...

The population of Ukraine is about 36/37 million so not as many voters as you suggest, there was only 18/19million voters at the last election and Zelensky picked up 73% of the vote. I’m pretty sure he will have increased his personal vote over the last 3/4 years tbh…….

There's 44 million Ukrainians and 35 million registered voters.

The last poll suggests he's easily the most supported candidate but that he gets just over half the vote right now. So it;s not inconceivable he would;t get over 50% of the first round vote and face a second round of voting against a single opponent.

In any case the point is made that Zelensky isn't a hero for all Ukrainians. Millions would vote against him.

The scale on that map is revealing: that's about 8 km progress into Russian occupied territory in 4 months. Its about 90 km to the sea of Azov from that advanced point if they want to split Russian forces and begin to bring about the end of this war.

If they'd secured those long range missiles today Ukrainian forces may have hoped to expedite that rate of progress. As it is - with deteriorating conditions - this is set to drag on.

The scale on that map is revealing: that's about 8 km progress into Russian occupied territory in 4 months. Its about 90 km to the sea of Azov from that advanced point if they want to split Russian forces and begin to bring about the end of this war.

If they'd secured those long range missiles today Ukrainian forces may have hoped to expedite that rate of progress. As it is - with deteriorating conditions - this is set to drag on.

Thats a fairly myopic view of the conflict, its like staring at Beechers Brook only during the grand national.

The frontline is about 1,000km long, The first line of Russia's defensive line is made up of millions of mins (reportedly 60% of all Russian stocks of mines) 10 miles deep in places.

The initial advances cost Ukraine a hugh toll so they changed track and have spent weeks and weeks destroying Russian fire and logistics.

I've seen it stated Ukraine have about a dozen mixed Battalions that haven't been nesr the front line since the summer. Presumably these are going to see movement soon.

Ukraine are moving heavy artillery past the fighting positions for the first time. Fast infantry fighting vehicles ( lynx and Swedish CV90s) as well for the first time.

The breach has been steadily widened around Verbove over the last couple of weeks, presumably they feel they've destroyed enough artillery delivery pieces and anti fire batteries in the area they can start to bring in what they've been holding back.
