The sooner that Russians wake up to what is coming the better.

Statements like this from Zelensky might seem like part of the script but once Putin has gone the reparations Russia will have to pay will be enormous and saddled against generations to come. Such a stupid pointless mess they have allowed themselves to get into.

Meduza and the source origin of the story istories are both very much anti Russian propoganda outlets LL.

On those numbers which are 33k higher than the Ukraine governments figures as of Sept 26th the Russian army would have already disintegrated as it'd be approx 50% of its manpower lost.
I don’t have muah history with them to judge tbh. We’ll see what other estimates say as the Ukrainian data (which is likely to be exaggerated) was before some of the recent fighting with green troops.

For what it worth
  • Overall, we rate Meduza Left biased based on editorial positions. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact check record.

Yeah they are the 70Ms almost certainly. Like with Ukraine I believe Belarus got to keep the majority of the old USSR equipment but the majority of the newer stuff (back then) was taken back into the RF army - I doubt Belarus has even very many T80s even, likely the bulk if not nearly all will be T72s
Their T72s and T80s are both from the mid80s (B and U models, respectively). Unless they've been upgraded, they won't be a massive threat.

Still, any incursion from the west would require Ukraine to relocate troops and resources, which is a massive threat.

Of all the possible outcomes to this war, Putin in the dock and Russia saddled with reparations really is the least likely. An alien invasion forcing all sides to band together is more likely than that.

Another day and still no US calls for a ceasefire leading to any meaningful talks.
What do meaningful talks look like to you?

Should Ukraine cede 1 square inch to Russia in this 'special military operation?' On the contrary, it should also insist the Crimea is returned.

Will Putin accept that? Not a chance. His ego is too big. He needs to show he's a strong, Russian warrior!

They'll be no talks, it will either drag on for years or in an act of desperation/self sabotage Putin will authorise tactical nukes.

He's a knobhead.

Once Putin is defeated I'm sure the NATO countries will say just write off the costs of all the support given and we'll rebuild the destroyed Ukrainian cities!

Plans are already in discussion for $300 billion in frozen central bank assets.. The last assessment suggested the figure needed to repair the destruction caused by Russia will be nearer to the trillion mark. As for Putin in the dock, it is Russia we are talking about so he probably take a wrong turn out of a window or have a bad cup of tea.

I doubt they will but the threat alone is enough that Ukraine will have to commit significant reserves just in case - and given the length of contact along the front atm I'm guessing that's why this is happening.

Basically Russia trying to stop another serious big offensive push by draining away forces to protect Kiev.

Trying to buy more time to get the reserves trained and equipped.

Just guesswork but seems the likelihood

Yeah I honestly don't know what it's like on a lot of other topics just really Russia LL, Putin remember though is far from left politically

Thing about the frozen reserve being used in that way mate, it'd absolutely finish the dollar as the reserve currency which to a massive extent is what supports it. It'll be pushed for by the EU and some US congressman but not a chance it'll happen.

Sorry Lad not even close. It's what Russia propaganda wants you to believe but the ruble will fail way before that happens. Now if you nuke the capital markets stateside you would be correct along with every nation collapsing along with it. I would suggest learning economics just a little.

Well it's look for some way to stop the slaughter of civilians or carry on with the killing and the growing possibility of Putin going full psychopath and making it a nuclear desert. Maybe a peacekeeping force of troops from a mutually agreeable country/countries. Sadly it's looking more the nuclear scenario as every day passes.
