Nah mate, what I'm saying is a few of you are saying the poles are very eager to get involved military in the conflict, why exactly... because their leadership is rabbidly anti Russian and was way before February too, so let's all cheer on Poland.

Poland attacking Belarus starts a nuclear war, simple as that, if you honestly believe the poles have been so vocal because of anything really to do with helping Ukranians then you don't understand history in that region.

Has Putin ever broken an agreement he's signed?

Minsk two was broken by Ukraine.
The various nuclear treaties where torn up by the USA.
Nord2 was cancelled by Germany.
He honoured all trade agreements including energy even after the countries the agreements where with started sanctions and military aid to Ukraine.

I've read what you've written and my conclusion is you are Pro Putin. It's in the systematic defence of what they've done layered in your vehement responses in relation to Zelensky and the Wests actions.

You don't have to say it outright, you don't have to defend Russias actions, but your wording and tone can draw no other verdict.

I don't know that I would go quite as far as you do in the conclusion, but it would severely damage US credibility when it comes to security commitments.

From Ukraine's perspective, Nunn-Lugar looks like one of the worst deals in the history of mankind right now. It passed 86-8, which meant Biden was a 'Yea' without looking, but I checked anyway.

I have a very hard time seeing Biden violating the NPT and clandestinely giving Ukraine nuclear weapons. He has a record as long as your arm on that issue. He's stuck. I suppose he could look the other way if Truss did it - "the special relationship isn't that special, they don't tell me everything" - and if they wanted to do something that insane then this is  the time to move.

I get what you are saying and tend to agree but it feels that in this situation you need a tough guy or aggresive lunatic to be making the end of Russia threats that would leave Putin in doubt. Then a voice of reason to mediate. We have seen where bending down t these sorts leads, appeasement etc. It is a horrendous situation and anyone supporting Putin in creating this situation needs their head feeling.

Would be a convenient scapegoat. NATO and Russia could definitely join together if Ukraine suddenly lurched that way.

He would instantly become a martyr to the cause. His performance has been heroic and he really is the leader that Ukraine needed and needs. I cannot see any such move seeing Ukrainians saying "ah well"!

No the BBC broadcast several programs about the rise of the right and their actions against ethnic Russians in the Ukraine. Show me where I've ever posted that the Ukraine didn't have the right to defend themselves. And quite a few posters on this thread have suggested escalation is preferable to a ceasefire and peace talks.

You're spot on about me being anti west btw, - I hate hypocrisy more than anything especially when it's on a global scale and I've seen it far too often in international politics. Doesn't mean I'm 'pro other' though.

Sane way as I hate what Israel have been doing for decades but it doesn't mean I support what Palestinians or those supporting them do in return.

And that's what breeds a robust democracy, talking things out, working out ways we can all get along under the same systems. Unfortunately though, what you have to remember is that most of here live in this 'west'. We will defend it, and anyone who wants to share in that patch to the last blade of grass.

Once we see a bully come in a start to beat up the little kids - no matter what inherent, historical problems that little kid has, we're going to give that Bully hell.

You know, a lot of people respected Putin for a long time. I have no idea but thought he was great, getting Russia back on its feet, welcomed to the World. Buy our property, come to our Countries as friends, enjoy a healthier more prosperous way of life. But what he has done in the last however many months has totally ruined it.

We can all make up our own minds about what brought this situation about and what the outcome might be.

It has been demonstrated numerous times that Putin will not countenance any agreement that doesn't involve him taking huge tracts of the Ukrainian country. Or is this, in your words, psychopath who already annexed the Crimea capable of reason and just withdrawing his troops from the Ukraine?
