Extremists on both left and right are scum. People are right when they say there's no sides. That's cause these extremes are actually very very alike and the world would be better off if they caught themselves on and did something productive.

Why are referring to extreme left and right when a group of far-right white supremacists have just marched through an American town causing death and fear? As far as I am aware, recent events have absolutely nothing to do with far-left extremists. They are not currently the problem, are they?

I've thankfully never met anyone who openly supports the nazis. And I hope I never have the misfortune of doing so. I just don't get it. It's guys who are shouting about American liberty and support the forces etc who wave the flag of a genocidal regime we had to make a huge sacrifice to destroy. It defies logic and explanation. I disagree very much on antifa and would suggest that those opposed to trump find an actual credible challenger this time so we don't get another 4 years. That would be good for America and all of us. He won democratically. That's not something to be proud of. But he will only be defeated democratically. So violence is unacceptable.

Don't equate anti-fascist protest to violence. It is about opposition to an ideology that has seen the deaths of hundreds of millions in the name of supremacy.

Sadly, I agree. That doesnt mean that I think Trump would don a bed sheet and all that, but the point about them "feeling enabled" is the crux of the problem I feel.
And he hasnt exactly calmed the situation it seems.

They know that their movement could grow and gain support in the same climate which made this man president. Like you say, he doesn't come across as being an opposer to them, either, which only empowers them more.
While I agree with your larger points about better candidates and The Donald's defeat being good for America and the rest of the world, the Electoral College is unlike any other system I am aware of for selecting the supreme executive of a democratic nation. It is hardly in keeping with true democratic principles.

Fascism has been alive and well in America for a long, long time. There was some strong support for Nazism before the war.
Now, neo-fascists have an ally in the White House. This will get worse before it gets better.
