I assume you're referring to a jarg article in the Daily Express which refers to SNP voters writing to the BBC.

Keep pushing your agenda, Pete!

No need to be defensive, I just thought is was humorous.....you really need to get out more......

I watched this on YouTube last night, thought it was rather objective and therefore I'd share it with you.

And when those 'dirty centrists' chat about the far left and the far right having similarities, I think most are referring to the tactics used by both sides tbh (and they have a point). Personally, when I think of the far left, I think of groups like Antifa who are pretty violent. An example being at Trump's inauguration when they set fire to an Iraqi immigrants limo because they assumed he was a wealthy Trump supporter, or in Chicago recently when they stormed a restaurant and battered a load of people who they accidentally misidentified as white supremacists.

My point being that Nazi’s are the worst people in the world but the media trying to paint every group on the left as being purer than pure doesn't help. I actually think that's the point what Trump was (badly) trying to make in the press conference the other day. I mean, his timing was off and I’m not denying he should have condemned those weird white supremacist lads straight off the bat, but he’s not wrong to point out how both of the fringe elements on the American right and left are escalating things in the US.

This descent into the politics of identity is all very concerning to me, I can't see how it's going to de-escalate at the moment and just when things are looking good for the bluez. Typical.

Excellent post, which I would to quote in the Trump thread if that's OK. I haven't watched the video as I'm sick of all these 'far left' and 'far right' idiots.......

Course mate, and thanks. Not a fan of Trump, but don't think he's a new Hitler. I'm most concerned about his authoritarian streak tbh. That's something to be legitimately concerned about but too many of his opponents help contribute to his success with their hysteria.

He's an idiot. There is far too much hysteria surrounding everything he says or does. I'm more concerned about the rise of intolerance and the violence that follows.....oh I removed the video as I thought your words were far more powerful.......

You don't understand antifa. It isn't an organisation, and exists as a collective of likeminded people, globally, which, let's be completely honest here, shouldn't be necessary.

It's like saying everyone who supported rock against racism was an anarchist libertarian militia.

The identity politics though is media driven and is deliberate, usually done to ramp up the public to whet the appetite for a greater conflict.

I'm not being defensive because I'm not an SNP supporter and don't feel any need to defend them. Just merely pointing out that the SNP weren't complaining about the BBC using the term 'white supremacists' like you said they were.
