to be honest, I'm sick of mealy mouthed response.
He doesn't mention guns once.
Just a whole load of "we as a nation need to do better".
You've got a platform, have the balls to use it.
Unless, of course, you really love your guns and think that your right to bear arms supersedes a kids right not to get murdered in school.
Yeah, waffle-town with a side of milquetoast that. Also, doesn't want to derail his upcoming run for TX governor.

So you are against the 2nd amendment and support it being repealed?
Thats a grey area. Personally, I see the second amendment as the right of the people to arm in order to form a militia in order to overthrow a tyrannical government. It's historical precedent (maybe the wrong word) that's completely outdated and was likely included in the bill of rights in order to maintain the support of the southern colonies/states in the fledgling years of the republic. The northern states needed this guarantee to quickly organize a response to any British reprisals, the southern states needed it to quell slave rebellions. The different needs for 2A go to the fundamental heart of the divide in the Country that led to civil war and still persist today.
I think it should be amended to clear up the ambiguity that plagues the issue. I, personally, don't see the need for any guns in private ownership but I get that that's unrealistic. So perhaps, amend the constitution so that the 2A is clearer, safer, and easier to legislate for and implement.

Over 50? I don't believe those figures and I think there's a catch with those numbers.
Sorry, it was nearer 30! (119 school shootings since 2018)

The U.S. has surpassed 200 mass shootings this year (as of may 24 2022)

The Gun Violence Archive, an independent data collection organization, has counted 212 mass shootings that have occurred so far this year, as of Tuesday. It defines a mass shooting as an incident in which four or more people were shot or killed, excluding the shooter.

The U.S. ended 2021 with 693 mass shootings, per the Gun Violence Archive. The year before saw 611. And 2019 had 417.

So, nearly 700 MASS shooting last year! 2 per day and those whoppers think that guns are not the problem. It is a disgrace as is ANYONE defending guns.

Only a portion of gun deaths are in mass school shootings but firearms (murder/accident/suicide) are the leading cause of death for kids in America

By the numbers: Nearly two-thirds of the 4,368 U.S. children up to age 19 who were killed by guns in 2020 were homicide victims, per the CDC. Motor vehicle crashes, formerly the leading cause of death for kids one and older, killed nearly 4,000 children. Another 30% of firearm-related child fatalities were suicides, 3% were accidental and 2% were of undetermined intent.
