Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

I think he would be an upgrade. Win 3-0 on Monday and my fickle opinion may change until the next defeat.
Id sooner keep Moyes (I'm no Myes fan btw) than go for Howe, he is utterly woeful. Teams can't defend, suffer high injuries because he runs players into the ground like Dyche did. Wants way more control over stuff than the likes of Moyes do, you think Moyes can be a troublemaker when he wants, well Howe can be a seriously awkward customer at times. The main reason for a NO from me though, Howe wants his keeper to be able to play out from the back and be decent with their feet (that's not Pickford whatever anyone on here tries to claim) but if you look at his record with goalkeepers over the years its terrible, Pope, Ramsdale, Begovic its people like that, I wouldn't trust him in a million years to pick a keeper. Don't even get me started on the helmet he has next too him.

Why do you think he's an upgrade?Spent huge amounts and Newcastle are below us in the table. Newcastle fans basically say Isak last season papered over the cracks of his poor tactics. His teams never look the most organised either. I just don't see why anyone thinks he'd be an upgrade as to me he's a similar level to Moyes who plays a slightly better brand of football

Would prefer another go with Silva

I can see there is an argument but Moyes plays a better brand than Dyche and maybe one or two others. Great when we were skint but cant visualise much beyond where we are.

I'm not against changing manager I just struggle to see why you're limiting your vision to someone because they've done okay in the Premier League. Howe isn't terrible by any means but I don't think he's the type who can raise a club to the higher heights of the Premier League consistently unless he has a massive budget which he won't have here. Also a big factor is his teams tend to be injury prone which we can't afford with our lack of depth generally. If we have to pick from the Premier League then Iraola is the obvious candidate. But there are managers in other leagues doing great work so why not give one of them a chance? Or do we need a Premier League experienced manager?

I mentioned in another that there may be but I don't look at much beyond our league, in fact much beyond our team. Other peoples job.

It is other people's jobs. With the Friedkins owning a club in Italy and to a lesser degree France I'm fairly confident they have good knowledge of the European manager market and who's showing promise etc. So I'd be surprised if Howe was even on their radar not to mention there's no guarantee Newcastle will sack him either

CL qualification, silverware, made a packet on Isak. And he's an everton fan, right?

On the odd game I watch them they seem to have a go, too.

What drawbacks do you see for Howe...
Injury prone teams
Inconsistent form and major slumps
Look unorganised at the back
Newcastle fans say Isak papered over the cracks last season as the football wasn't great
Spent huge and are below us in the table
Winning cups is nice but with the budget he's had they should be looking to be a consistent top 4 squad especially as Man Utd, Spurs and Chelsea have been average the last couple of seasons.
Look at Emery at Villa with less resources that's what a manager of Newcastle should be doing

But he's a blue right. And his teams have a go against the bigger sides. Shame they don't against the lesser sides and drop points against them

Do you honestly think he'd improve us?

As a club when we do go for another manager we need to think outside the box and go for someone like Bournemouth or Brentford have done.

Brentford for example when they came to Hill Dickinson totally played us off the park. tactics with lesser players 👌
