Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

I'm repeating myself but Carsley is a youth coach not a manager. He's 51 and has never managed a top flight team. Undoubtedly he's had plenty of offers as his coaching is excellent so why hasn't he left the comfort of being in the youth set up of England? And when he was England interim head coach he looked very uneasy doing the media stuff and the scrutiny involved. If he was truly ambitious he would of moved heaven and earth to get that England job but he was happier being an interim and filling in until the next coach was appointed. He'd not last 5 minutes under the scrutiny of a big Premier League club trying to get to the next level
I wonder if Moyes moves upstairs, would Carsley be a good choice?
I know his personal life plays a big part in his decision making.
I wouldnt be opposed to Moyes in a DoF role with Carsley backed up by coleman and baines.
We probably shouldn't judge Andrews till next season but he ate Moyes for breakfast.
I think Carsley would be a tactical step above Moyes and with the right set up, could do well.

We don't have a director of football model and even if we did Moyes wouldn't do it as he'd still have ambitions to manage

Maybe he's been waiting for us?

I would - what the point of a new broom if the old broom is pushing the direction in which it goes - which is a big part of a DoF's job???
