Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

The stench of Klopp still hangs large over the club.

No matter who takes the reins, they will always have to live up to Klopp.
And the good news is, there are precious few even in history who could do that.

Say what you like about Dr. Teeth, but we knew we were goosed when they lured him. A truly brilliant manager.

A lot of oeople would've been made up with Thomas Frank this time last year. Funny old game.
I suspect Thomas Frank would have made a better fist of Everton's season than the Moyesiah did. Expectations are so low at Everton, he couldn't have failed in the manner he did at Spurs. I doubt he'd have done any worse than the 13th we ended up in. We might have even got a cup run out of him.

I emailed the club as well but just telling people "ah well nothing we can do" is part of the reason we're so pathetic now, if we don't demand anything of the club why should they do anything other than the bare minimum

Btw I didn't say don't do nothing, I said go outside rather than going around in circles on here, which, judging by the general discourse, folk are just getting more and more annoyed. Its useless without action.

Be part of the solution.

Dear Mr. Friedkin and the Friedkin Group,

I am writing as a deeply frustrated Everton supporter who believes the continued appointment of David Moyes is actively damaging the club’s ambitions, identity, and future trajectory.

The failure to secure European qualification is not merely a disappointment; it is a fundamental failure considering the resources available, the expectations surrounding the project, and the opportunity presented this season. Everton supporters were promised progression, ambition, and a clear modern direction. Instead, what we have witnessed has been tactically stagnant football, negative game management, poor squad utilization, and an overall inability to capitalize on crucial moments throughout the campaign.

Moyes’ approach belongs to a different era. The football has too often been reactive, uninspired, and devoid of the intensity or tactical sophistication now required to compete at the top end of the Premier League. Matches that demanded courage and initiative were approached with caution and fear. Talented players have looked constrained rather than elevated. Supporters are once again being asked to accept mediocrity dressed up as pragmatism.

Everton cannot afford to drift backward while clubs around us evolve aggressively and intelligently. The Friedkin Group now has an opportunity to demonstrate genuine ambition by making a decisive managerial change before stagnation becomes institutionalized. A club of Everton’s size and history should not be content merely surviving or hovering around mid-table while European places slip away through conservative management and repeated tactical failures.

Supporters want a modern project, a progressive footballing identity, and leadership capable of maximizing the club’s potential. It is increasingly clear that David Moyes is not capable of delivering that future.

I urge you to act immediately and begin the search for a manager who reflects ambition rather than nostalgia.

Sincerely,

A Frustrated Everton Supporter

It's difficult because this has all come to a head just after the seasons ended. There's been a handful on here banging the drum for Moyes to replaced for a while but the vast majority of the fanbase has only turned in the last couple weeks of the season and there aren't any games left for us to make our feelings known in front of TV cameras.

That being the case it's hard to know what you can do to try and affect things other than writing emails that are probably going straight in the bin.

Started a thread for discussing this very topic. No man is an island and we need aone creativity and collective thinking.

Strange thing to say when we've got the evidence he actually did do worse and played a big part in Spurs nearly getting relegated. Also went out of the cups very early just like we did.

I think some people hate Moyes so much they lose objectivity which doesn't help the argument at all.

Good idea. You're absolutely right, the amount of fans that are very unhappy right now can be advantageous to us getting what we want if we can find a way to come together and show our unified opposition to the direction of the club.
