Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

For the first time ever, all the top 6 clubs in the premier league will have managers below 50 years

Manchester United (Carrick)- 44 years
Chelsea (Alonso) - 44 years
Liverpool (Iraola)- 43 years
Arsenal (Arteta) - 44 years
Manchester City (Enzo) - 46 years
Tottenham (De Zerbi)- 46 years

Never mind all that though, it's not like our lot are even in the Big 12.
Five of those six as well will have new managers starting their first season as manager of those clubs. No more Pep as well, so the PL as a competition is seemingly ripe for opening up (possibly more so than this season) but we just want stability.

Business of football is about identifying opportunities and acting quickly. Our board appear to be acting in the way the Blockbuster Video board did when faced with an opportunity to invest in Netflix.

Big stretch calling Tottenham a top 6 club when they have finished 17th two years in a row.

I worked part time at Kwik Save when I was a kid. And I remember that, at the time, the biggest ASDA store in the country was opening right across from one of Kwik Save's biggest stores. And I remember chatting to the area manager and asking him if he was worried.

He responded: 'no. That ASDA will be too big. No one will want to shop somewhere that big. This isn't America. If anything, we'll pick up most of ASDA's customers because people will turn away from that.' 😂. I thought he was insane. I was a teenager and he was an experienced area manager. He said: 'trust me, I know what the people round here want.'

Less than a year later, the Kwik Save shut down. ASDA was thriving. A couple of years after that, the whole Kwik Save company was gone.

I always think of that WHENEVER we as a club make football or business decsions. We are incapable of forward thinking in any way and are totally afraid of the new.

And that crap attitude has run through the club for decades now. If we don't have a root and branch overhaul, we'll go the way of Kwik Save.
