Anyone who wouldn't want Rooney back at Everton needs to take themselfs in the garden and wobble there ****ing heads

If he comes back it has to be when this contract is up though, not when he's 32 to massage his ego

Rooney will sign another 2 year extension on his United contract with improved pay and conditions. According to reports coming out of Carrington it is more or less done. Rooney has never seriously stated he wants to play for Everton again. Everton as a club have moved on and under Martinez are finally making some genuine progress, as supporters we should be enjoying this and not longing for something that is NEVER going to happen

The manager is uncertain if the striker would commit his future to the club if they missed out on Champions League football but feels he is is happy at Old Trafford
Manchester United manager David Moyes has admitted that striker Wayne Rooney may not sign a new contract if the champions miss out on a top-four finish.

The Red Devils currently languish in seventh place in the Premier League, five points behind Liverpool in fourth and 11 points off top-of-the-table Arsenal.

Rooney’s current deal expires at the end of next season and, as exclusively revealed by Goal in December, the striker has rejected United’s latest attempts to open talks over a new contract.

When asked how confident Moyes was of Rooney signing a new deal if United missed out on the top four he told reporters: "Well, we would have to wait and see what [would] happen if that situation arose."

The former Everton man has, however, been in top form for the reigning champions this season, scoring 11 times, and his manager feels he is happy at Old Trafford.

"I thought if you looked at his performances you'd have to say he's certainly playing at his best," he added.

United are in FA Cup action on Sunday, a game Rooney is expected to miss through injury, although Moyes is confident he could return in midweek for the Capital One clash with Sunderland.

"He's got a groin injury and won't be available for the game," he said before adding he "had a chance" of facing the Black Cats.

United face Swansea at Old Trafford having lost six times already at Old Trafford this season but Moyes has urged his side to improve and insists the FA Cup is important to the club.

"To have not won the FA Cup for 10 years is something which is a bit of a surprise but it's something which we'll try and do," Moyes said.

"We're trying to win all the competitions we enter which we're sure most people are trying to do but as far as I'm concerned we'll do everything we possibly can.

"The cup is important to me, it always has been but I'm sure it's important to every club."

I don't think it's a cert that he will come back but its not impossible. I do think though that he is certain to leave Man U, he would be crazy to sign a new deal there - he looks unhappy now, even when he scores. Also I cant see him moving abroad or to London so where does that leave him?

I read somewhere that he could buy himself out of the last year of his contract for £12-£13 mill this summer too, so if he doesn't get his wish to leave he may just do that.

Its seem that Jose could still want him
Jose Mourinho is confident he can sign Wayne Rooney as a long-term answer to his striking options at Chelsea, but he will wait until the summer (The Telegraph)
Would rooney choose Chelsea over Everton?

Most players would choose Chelsea and Jose over Everton normally. Who knows with Rooney, it all depends on how much he cares 1 - About money and 2 - how much he wants to play for Everton at this stage of his career.

If those 2 points work in our favour he'll end up here. If they don't, he'll end up somewhere else simples.

It also depends, most critically, on how well we're doing.

He'd love to play for us in the Champions League, I'm sure. At 28, I don't honestly think he'd come back for anything less, though.
