He will not come here until he is past his 30s there's to much competion from other teams to sign him

Then he's taking a big gamble on us wanting him when he's 32 - 33 as with the body type and fitness issues he has I cant see him being a asset at that age. Its not just about him wanting to come back, its also about us wanting him back.

I no I wouldn't want him at that age that's why I just don't think he will come he will get last big pay check with chelsea or Madrid and after that who knows where he will go . I think he will leave after this season especially if united miss out on champions league

cue Red Café going RAWK-like

But he is a striker.

He will fill in now again agains West Brom or Norwich. But no way will he he able to match Ozil & players who have been dedicated midfielders all their career.

Its a completely different game.

Without bothering to go back and see if anyone ever answered this, Gullit done it, Lothar Matteus done it and probably more that I cant be bothered looking for. Players who really understand the game can drop back when their legs start to go

He is the best English player, the best at OT and I'd like to have him back. However his agents will be manoeuvring for a move to either Madrid or Chelsea.

I agree with a few who have suggested that he will move further back in the next couple of years.

Gareth Barry is 32/33 i can see Rooney playing that position at the stage to a massivly high standard, not sure it will be at Everton though.

would be a good centre mid...however that's if he was going to be a worthwhile signing at his age then and also we may have better players by then.

i wouldn't be a masive advocate of us smashing our transfer and wage structure just for one person - what would that do to our squad harmony? i'm sure he wouldn't moan, but what about someone like barkley? Will he get the impression, oh, i can leave for another club win all there is to win and then near the end of my career just walz back to everton and get payed nearly double more than anyone else.

Great post mate, the lad has no right to just waltz back into Everton and earn that kind of money. Rooney is a good player but in my humble opinion he never became the world star he could've become and that is big big money for a 30 plus year old

Anyone who wouldn't want Rooney back at Everton needs to take themselfs in the garden and wobble there ****ing heads
