Ryan Giggs? Ok not a striker but an attacking winger.

Personally I could see him adopting more of a Sheringham role. Still off a main striker but relying more on his technique and awareness rather than his explosiveness.

Giggs is ok for half a game here and their against average teams.

He was terrible against us.

Rooney's no ordinary striker, though. He's awesome with the ball, and tracks back all the freakin' time.

He'll be a brilliant midfielder - and he will be a midfielder.

But he is a striker.

He will fill in now again agains West Brom or Norwich. But no way will he he able to match Ozil & players who have been dedicated midfielders all their career.

Its a completely different game.

Rooney got an option, leave Man u on a free and join Everton who could pay him around £100k a week with shirt sales, he won a lot of stuff at Man u, he made a lot of money at Man u. We will now find out if he really is a blue or a greedy merchant still seeking a new deal of man u for 200k a week?

I could well see this happening.

I have always believed Wayne would come back here eventually.

Imagine Wayne and Ross in the same Everton team.

Rooney returning to Everton is for the next three or four years a fanciful dream for both us and possibly even Rooney himself.

He is at present and for the next few years at the peak of his footbaaling and earning powers. We certainly cannot even come close to matching what others can pay and as wealthy as he aready is if anybody thinks he will pass up 100k per week just to play for Everton they are seriously deluded.

Yes he's past it now but it's been a long time since he went from the wing to centre mid, at one stage he was good.

Really ?? I cant remember a sustaned period of time, when he has been a good central midfielder.

Maybe the odd game, as cover. Its a specialised position, to be good at it, you need to be one.

I'm thinking £20m, but you never know. Suppose it depends on who wants him and how badly. RVP still fetched £24m when he had 12 months left on his contract and he was a year older.

Exactly depends who wants him, Chelsea would probably offer 20m, we'll go slightly lower at 3.75m.

Well remembered but I'm not sure that RVP gets paid as much as ROoney. I might be wrong though!

Hmmm, probably not. I think Rooney is the better player though personally.

Just thinking about this for a moment. Maybe he thinks "I'm 28, I've won everything at club level, I'm in the peak of my career and I hate that ginger tit just as much as I did 10 years ago. I want to go back to the club I love and help them move forward".

It would be fantastic. He'd go down as a club legend. Not that it's me making this decision but if it was a choice between an extra £10m or so to add to my already huge bank balance, and maybe pick up another few honours (not dismissing them as nothing, like!), or going back to the club I love and becoming a legend, I'd choose the latter in a heartbeat.

Like I said though, that's just what I'd do.

Rooney would bring down our entire club with his horrible attitude.

**** him, he'll be finished in two years anyway.

What number would you demand though?

It all hinges on that.
