Realistically, we're never going to be able to afford to buy him.

In Summer 2015 when his contract expires, he will be 29 - approaching 30 in the October

I think we're all agreed that we wouldn't particularly want him when he's 32-33 as he's the sort of player you could imagine will deteriorate significantly in a physical sense with age.

If he's coming at all, it'll be in summer 2015 when this contract expires.

Being honest, I don't expect him to ever come back here and I certainly don't want him coming back in his mid 30s to waddle around for a year or two.

Yeah I never wanted him back in mid 30s, but his vision and passing is top class and that wont go over-night, 30 is not past it and he have only turned 30

IF he leaves Man Utd he will be going to a massive club in the champions league. Barcelona, Madrid, Dortmund, Bayern. I don't think he will sign for Chelsea or Arsenal.

He's a phenomenal footballer, very intelligent and when he's on form he's the best in the world, he's just turned 28 in October, watching him each week, he still plays like he is 21, he's tracking back, winning the ball deep in midfield, bringing it out of defence, creating attacks and finishing them off. He does the job of 3 players and players like this don't come around often. The scary thing is, I still believe he's got more in his locker

And will be awfull.

Its naive to actually beleive a striker can drop into a new position and excell, at the leverl we want.

Rooney's no ordinary striker, though. He's awesome with the ball, and tracks back all the freakin' time.

He'll be a brilliant midfielder - and he will be a midfielder.

Ryan Giggs? Ok not a striker but an attacking winger.

Personally I could see him adopting more of a Sheringham role. Still off a main striker but relying more on his technique and awareness rather than his explosiveness.

.....bit early to talk about us getting him in a few seasons time, suspect a lot will happen in the Rooney career before then that will inform whether this is likely to happen. Can't see it myself.

No mate, but I think he might want to go somewhere for a massive last pay day. Sadly I don't think we can give him that. And he might want to try his hand abroad.

No chance of £30m though.

I can't imagine him going abroad to be honest, I think he would struggle to adapt off the pitch.

But he made a lot of money, sponsors are massive, he been on around 8 million a season in wages. How much does he want? He got unfinished business at efc

He's playing the best football I've seen him play in years. Imagine seeing him with Ronaldo and Bale? United are a poor side at the moment, he will play even better in a better team.
In the World Cup this year, he will prove he is still one of the leading players in the game and clubs will know about his contract running low, United will not turn down a bid of £25m that will come flying in in July.
