I like that - going to start calling you it @Moomin

Or Monitor Moomin.

72 points worth of luck and scrambling.

So as a game in isolation: Newcastle at home, 3-0 up at half time playing some of the best togger i've seen at GP.

Luck and scrambling?

Another one:

Playing Lukaku RW against Arsenal at home. Won 3-0. Unreal footy.

Luck and scrambling?
I'll be honest mate - those two examples you have provided are spot on (although to be honest, I seem to remember that we were hanging on at the end of the Newcastle game, to win 3-2). The problem I have with Martinez, is that there are more bad memories than there are good ones:-

0-4 at Anfield on two separate occasions.
3-6 at home to Chelsea
Leading 2-0 at home with ten minutes to go, against Arsenal, only to draw.
Leading 2-0 at home with ten minutes to go, against West Ham, only to lose.
Kiev away 2-5.

That's true about the newcastle game, in retrospect the second half was a good sign of more serious flaws that were to come in the following seasons.

We should have closed it out or gone on to absolutely batter them. Instead we didn't do either and somehow let them back into it.

Martinez had the benefit of Lukaku the whole time so for that reason I will go for Koeman. However, if Koeman was given a full season this time, I genuinely think he may have taken us down. Very hard decisions.

Also in fairness to Martinez he actually persuaded Lukaku to come and brought in Deulofeu and McCarthy etc who were instrumental in that first season, but the 2nd seasons were absolutely awful.

Think both overall were poor.

I think Koeman eclipsed all this this season.

Definitely, but it still takes nothing away from the battering we gave Newcastle and the method we used to do so: quick, decisive, possession-based footy.

All very well remembered. It's a shame forgetfulness is swarming the forum. Or is it revisionism?
Whenever the tough gets going in a debate Ian you disappear.
You're a good lad, a good blue but absolutely a stubborn sensationalist in your views.
