Roberto Martinez discussion

How many games could we say the exact same thing about though this season? Far too many, and nothing changes, in fact they get worse as Martinez seems to dig his heels in even more ,and becomes even more determined ,it's his way or nothing !
You are right everybody can see our problems yet he just leaves things how they are.
I remember when brian clough took forest down and everybody was telling him were it was going wrong yet he just left things as they were and down they went.
Now i am not saying we are going down not yet anyway but it has to be arrogance on martinez's part

If Moyes produced some of absolute dross that Martinez has this season he'd be getting pelters for it, but it seems that Martinez is exempt from criticism in some quarters. We've been dire at times this season and the manager is ultimately responsible. I don't want him sacked, but I do want him to react and adapt to take account of the fact that we've been sussed in the league and teams know how to negate us.

But he seems incapable of adapting to that simple fact and keeps ploughing on in the same weary furrow.

I'm going criticise him for that and I don't need any super fans telling me that I have no right to.
Yes, but that's just it - he's not exempted from it by ANYONE as far as I can see. He's been making wayward decisions all season and rightly should get stick. But it's beyond it to topple over from that reasonable approach to saying we should sack him, which many have done. Countering THAT demand is not giving Martinez a free pass.

Most of us have some problems with Martinez atm.

There's however a big gaping chasm of a void between having issues with positions and tactics and 'we're all doomed! Catalan clown!' spiel that some here pop up with after every bad result.

Could be worse. Could have spent £150 million to have the same amount of points and fewer goals scored

cant believe i got negged

Get stones back. Get Mirallas back. Another pacey winger on loan in January to rotate with Mirallas and McGeady. Play wingers on the wing, Central midfielders in central midfield and get some urgency back in the team.

There's still plenty to play for. I don't understand how everything is either world class or terrible/relegation fodder. There's plenty of in between and that's where we are right now.

I could accept if the teams playing a bit poor but it's the chronic mismanagement such as sticking by this completely inbalanced team that's unforgivable.

Like i said earlier imagine the stick Rodgers would get for having suarez and sturridge then playing them out of position to accomodate lucas and lambert, that's exactly what's going on atm, we have quality players like barkley and lukaku, yet one is being completely used the wrong way and the other made ineffective by being played out of position to accomodate your Barrys and Naismiths.

You then have our arguably strongest assets in our fullbacks being made useless due to having no natural winger to link up/make space for.

It's absolutely criminal as it's so so basic.

I agree to a certain extent, but we have 2 wingers in our squad (Atsu doesn't count since he's never involved). I think the moving around of Barkley et al is more to do with having nobody else to play on the wing rather than shoehorning barry into the midfield.
