If we are still in a similar state of play in 3-4 years then I maybe start calling for his head. Thing is he is still a newbie and introducing his style and his way and will be for several years. He hits his first bump in the road and people are calling him useless and more laughable some are calling for his head. Just glad the chairman ignored the fans in 1983-84 when they almost had Kendalls head in the noose.

He's been too deferential to the old guard at the club. Hibbert and Osman given new contracts - WTF?! That's also evident in the way he refused to address the centre back situation in the summer. Distin and Jagielka are toxic for us and at least one should have been shown the door and a new CB who can play his system brought in. It really does all flow from that unit, IMO. They cant provide the platform for a possession based game and now they cant even defend like professionals.

Except for some mad reason we refuse to play to his strengths. Just HOOF HOOF, don't pass to him when he makes a good run, HOOF HOOF, run out wide, HOOF HOOF.

Play a fecking through ball once in a while. There was a moment when (I think the scores were level, or it was 0-1) and he made a great run but no one played the pass. He slots when he's in those positions, but he needs the ball to slot ffs.

You could say the opposition were expecting the old Everton style of 'if it moves kick it' and the get in in the box style of David Moyes. A style can take a while to take shape and we will get high and lows with it. Ask Alex Ferguson.

Was it down to his poor selection? Eto'o playing AM time after time. Naismith and Barkley who I think do not have much pace playing on the wing.

A dreadful Soton side made to look good by our shortfalls and a gutless performance by those wearing the shirt yesterday. Pathetic.
