What chances did he have? He's not missing shots all over the place, he's not getting the chance to shoot!

Well that's a daft expectation, and i disagree that's how they'll see it.

There is more money in the league for every team, spending £28m on a striker is not some outrageous outlay or something out of the ordinary for a team who finished 5th. Look at how much the teams above us spent in the Summer, we're still a long way behind that financial backing.

The board will be happy with a top 8 finish, as they have been for a decade.

I'm not disagreeing with him being worth that Brennan, I'm saying it's a hell of a lot of money for us to spend on one player.

We had the money, he was available, we spent it. I don't see why it's a lot for 'us' to spend. The teams around us spend more than that every summer. One marquee signing isn't breaking the bank.

This was extremely embarrasing and even worse predictable. We are playing without any confidence and belief. The toothless nature of our attacking play is worrying to say the least, the amount of chances wasted with childish finishing. The midfeld were overrun, couldnt protect the defence and were dominated by effing Reed. The defence was so poor, so first goal was embarrasing and their was absolutely amateurish defending by Distin.

In two season Martinez havent improved the defensive record and play, the midfield is still poor and the strikeforce is dependent on a extremely injury-prone player. The is no indication that Martinez knwos what is doing and what he needs to do to improve this.
