Voted yes but all would depend on his wages and fee if Utd wanted one.

He'd be great PR story , attractive to other signings and would create serious revenue streams through shirt sales and open us up to foreign markets as his most famous English footballer in last 10 years! Also helps his a winner and would instill belief into the weak minded squad we have

I just think his role as a player should be more significant when you are looking at figures of 15 mill a year. If i am being on honest i wouldbe more inspired by Ferguson and Koeman encouraging me from the bench. But thats just me.
I want him but for no more than 5 mill a year. I know it's not my money but don't want him ruining our wage structure. If he's free then give him a signing on fee as well to bump it up a bit.

Yes 500k in the casino great pr !

United wanted rid of Schneiderlin.
If you actually tot up the quality player (Pogba included) who Manure have let go, they would pretty much make a world eleven!

I think it is to his great credit that he hasnt played the prima donna about not getting game time, for that reason i dont think he would kick up here either! As a squad player (regardless of his wages, they are not our problem) he would be a benefit to us going into a European campaign. He left us how many years ago? And people would still spit on his grave because of it, get a grip you knicker wetters, there are kids being blown up, others wasting away from cancer and you are all getting out the torches and pitchforks because someone left us for success and glory twelve years ago, grow up!

Boyhood Everton fan who had to leave his dream of playing for his club to go to Utd or we'd have gone bankrupt and now returns for the future success of his team. Its a disney film in the making :-)

Ridiculous comments on a football club forum, were people come to talk about footbal and offer opinions about football, and not all the terrible things that happen throughout the World. Nobody was comparing the resigning of Rooney to these but you !

A few months ago I was in the yes camp, but I'm now of the opinion that we should politely decline his overtures.

If we are to progress the team we must emulate is Spurs, could you see them taking Rooney on under any circumstances? I know that they are some way ahead of us now, but at any stage during their 'project' would they have taken on an ageing prizefighter? I think not.

This should be a public vote for later vaulting. I've already said I'd rather we don't sign him. I know I'm still bitter about him leaving, I don't want him giving us the dregs of his career. We don't owe him any favours.

He's not been the player he was for a long time now and while, yeah, he could maybe add something to us on the pitch he could just as easily sign a massive contract and get crocked. He will be 32 not long after any deal he signs and has already shown that he's losing what he had.

I'm against it but I think this deal has been inevitable since January. Just get it over with and put me through some short term misery and hopefully he makes me look silly and scores loads of goals.

Why would anyone be vaulted for expressing an opinion? It's a simple question - would you have him back or not?

A world reknowned sports superstar who will raise the profile of our club massively, attract better players who will want to play alongside him and almost certainly increase advertising revenues.
A man who will be on a mission to get into the England squad for the World Cup.
A player who was truly world class and if he's fit could produce world class moments again.
A player who still has so much to offer for 2/4 years - he's only 31.
An inspiration to a group of fantastic young players coming through - for this above all other reasons I hope that he comes back. The level of skill he will show in training will push them on, raise the level of their own ambitions and expectations in their abilities as players, help them realise what is needed to play at the very top level.
And above all else - he's a winner, he has a winning mentality, and I for one am sick to death of year after year of insipid failure, of seeing our so called heroes fail when they turn up at the big clubs, especially at that hole across Stanley Park.
And ... no matter that he left, he's one of us, there's no doubt about that.
Brill.
