Are they the only 2 strikers on the planet?
Its his money to do what he likes with. In fact for the last 12 months Rooney has accepted his bit part role at OT without complaint and with great professionalism, always doing his best when required, and scoring some important goals. The lad has learned a lot about life since he scored his first goal against Arsenal, and depending on the deal, a season with another season option would be fine with me. Koeman has proved he will not abide players who don't work for the team, and Rooney is still an excellent team player. Also, Everton would be his only chance of getting back in the England frame, and might even help a few others get recognition. If we are to become a 'Top team' and have the right sort of reputation worldwide,we need star internationals in our ranks.
So...I'm 70/30 in favour of Rooney coming to Everton.

I think its very similar to when we signed Gascoigne and Ginola and kenwright said quote ` these are the big names we like to sign` basically they were in the twilight of their careers and no one wanted them. With Moshiris strange share purchase and talk of a new stadium I have been led to believe we have moved on from signing has beens.

Last summers window was a disaster and signing Rooney to me would show that not a lot has changed.
There are much better players out there than Rooney, we signed Walsh to find them.

Arguably the clubs top earner for a player no other top 6 team would take, take out the sentiment ( for a player who didn't think twice about leaving us), then the cold hard facts is he's not good enough for we are aiming to be.
Get replacements for Lukaku and Barkley (Rooney isn't good enough to replace either) before any other big business.

We would scowl at paying 150k for pretty much any other player yet we are considering paying it for a player past his peak.

put it another way, would you have had barmby or stones back at the equiv of £150,000 a week (far more than another other player) when they were at the end of their careers/past it
Both never as good as rooney - he is united and England all time top scorer

I think Rooney certainly did not help himself with the "once a blue" thing, but just look how wrong he was for his own personal development! Only won every single possible trophy open to a player at club level, so it turned out rotten for him, along with the £300K per week for Lord alone knows how long.

Traitor sort of encompasses outright jealousy in every post I have ever read. Plenty of players come and go without being a traitor, Arteta for example is still loved, but forced his way out of the club. Many mis-guided people said the same about Gary Speed, again wrongly.

Barmby was a proper Judas, but other than that players come and go.

I personally don't think Jose plays in the right style for anyone. He's too rigid.

Whilst I wouldn't expect Rooney to be a world beater, pulling up trees etc.. I do believe her be more creative in an Everton shirt, so if the price is right, I say sign him up.

So we should give him a heroes return because he was once a great player for other teams, cos let's be honest that's how it's going to be spun to us by billy bullshit that this is some crazy coup

no but he is better than nick barmby that was my point, rooney would add to the squad

Fully grown men booing fully grown men. Can't wait.

Grow up ffs. I'm a season where Kone has been on the field your all bothered about Rooney potentially playing for us.
