no but he is better than nick barmby that was my point, rooney would add to the squad
He was better than barmby, key word 'was', and maybe he would add to our squad which I doubt, but does that mean he now deserves to be our highest ever player? would he be that key of a player for us

We aren't getting the Rooney of a few years ago we're getting the one that's struggle with the pace of the league for a good 18 months now

Koeman said he'd welcome Rooney to Everton and he has 2 years at least left at the top-level.

He is one of the most famous footballers in the World.

Reports suggest Man Utd would let him go on a free transfer, as a gesture.

Think before you vote. Would you want Wayne Rooney in an Everton squad?

I certainly would. If you believe in Ronald Koeman, if you believe in Moshiri, if you believe in things improving for Everton next year and beyond, vote yes!

I am sick of people slating Wayne Rooney. He is one of the best, if not the best, English footballer over the last 10 years. He is an Evertonian and we should be grateful if we can strike a deal to get him back.

A player who left us because he was ambitious, now comes back, with one of the reasons being us finally showing his levels of ambition. Why not?

I chose no simply because I think it would cost us too much for what he's worth. He's still a capable player but, as typical with aging stars, they tend to get paid based on their past achievements and not their current talent level.

If we got him on a 3 year contract for 100k or less with no transfer fee, I'm all for it. I just don't think that will happen.

66% of people who clearly haven't been watching this fella play football for 18 months.

Just take a look over on redcafe, they are absolutely desperate to be rid of him and are all unanimous in saying he's completely spent at the top level. It's not a 50/50 split among their fan base, it's every single one of them.

We will be going backwards as a team if he's in our starting XI in August.

Its his money to do what he likes with. In fact for the last 12 months Rooney has accepted his bit part role at OT without complaint and with great professionalism, always doing his best when required, and scoring some important goals. The lad has learned a lot about life since he scored his first goal against Arsenal, and depending on the deal, a season with another season option would be fine with me. Koeman has proved he will not abide players who don't work for the team, and Rooney is still an excellent team player. Also, Everton would be his only chance of getting back in the England frame, and might even help a few others get recognition. If we are to become a 'Top team' and have the right sort of reputation worldwide,we need star internationals in our ranks.
So...I'm 70/30 in favour of Rooney coming to Everton.

If we are to become a top team we need quality footballers. Not has beens who are looking for one last pay day at the top level.

It's not a simple Yes/No. If the transfer $$ and what we're paying makes sense, then absolutely. He'd bring quality and depth to the squad. If he's on Man U wages and the fee is over 20 million, then no.

If there's a transfer fee involved at all it's a simple 'no' surely?

I'm assuming it's a free.

Rooney in out R Bsrkley, and maybe Lukaku
Put it in that prospective a deffo NO!

A possible transfer in of Rooney can't be blamed for Barkley signing his contract. If we are after Rooney we would be in for him had Barkley decided to sign up anyway, he hasn't.

Rom the same. They both aren't going to leave and just Rooney come in to replace them, don't worry.
