I am genuinely shocked two thirds of Evertonians want this to happen.

The only way it's a yes for me is if he's just a footnote on this window.

No way can I vote yes until I see what else we do. If he is the top signing or even near the top this window is a disaster.
Just voted no. Before I clicked the button I thought the poll would be roughly 50/50. So like you was a bit surprised.

Up until recently I wasn't against it provided the financial arrangements weren't silly. However I've changed my mind as his fitness record lately has been poor and Wayne has always been a player who needs to be fully fit to perform well. I don't think that player will be seen again sadly. I also feel that elements of the crowd will be on his back very quickly creating a hostile atmosphere on matchdays that could rub off on the team performance. Plus I can see his wages unsettling the dressing room too.

All these goals/assists were in the past 18 months or so. Check out the goal at 1.45m of the video. Utter genius. And at 2.28 and 2.55. World-class.

But it's the old you tube clip problem, have you seen Martina's goal by the way? I place more weight in Mourinho and actual United fans opinions, than a edited highlights reel.
Do you think his return will be worth the inevitable division and discord among the fans at the match ? Because apart from anything else I think that is something his proponents wilfully ignore.

Who needs legs anyway when you've got Gana and Schneiderlin behind you mopping up...it's happening.

There will be no division if Koeman gets Rooney playing well and we are winning matches at Goodison, and improve our away form. Rooney would only improve us imo. He is far from finished, Giggs went on until he was 40.

Giggs was in, and probably still is, much better condition than Rooney and looked like he worked a lot harder at it. Still, everytime Utd played poorly his inclusion was instantly brought up (past it etc). Rooneys conditioning has been called into question since his late 20's.

two scenarios keep popping in my head. He signs but we sell both Barkley and Rom so he papers over some cracks as a 'name' and we are supposed to be happy with it .

Even worse he encourages the bid, the fans start to believe he actually wants to come 'home' but uses our interest as leverage to squeeeze even more out of the Chinese and goes there.

Totally disagree there will be no division , there will be me for one thing, and while I may like to think I'm unique sadly I'm not. :). My dislike of him is immutable.

All other arguments aside, no-one can argue that signing Rooney does not improve the depth of our attacking options currently available.
Valencia, Kone, Calvert-Lewin or Wayne Rooney?

Not even a question in my mind.

Thats a good take on it. He deffo improves our striking options, as they currently stand anyrate.

Would we be having this much of a debate if he had signed for United as a kid from Newcastle? Actually, probably few would want him other than for depth and cover.

There are other players available. Many of them younger , better and cheaper. If this is the best we can do than I assume we're looking to strengthen our grasp of 7th place. Be still heart!
