"I love Everton, I grew up supporting Everton and want them to win," he told the Toffees' official website.

"In footballing terms I felt I had to move on but I still want Everton to win and that is never going to change.

"All my family are Everton fans, my son has his Everton kit now! Everton is still a big part of my life."
Blah , blah , blah, words just meaningless words spilling out of a traitors gob.

how's he a traitor any more than any other of thousands of footballers that have ever left Everton football club???????????????

The club possibly, and could be argued, betrayed him far more than this kid could have betrayed anyone? Was it his duty, to provide Everton with league titles and cup wins, more than any other Evertonian on the planet, like yourself? give me a break

we were paupers back then and owed the bank millions and the club were happy to sell him to fund more transfers.

He was 18. we were crap. he was ambitious. all parties gained out of it. we got into the CL the next season.

you're hating on what was an 18-year old kid who left the club and made us £27m which at the time was a massive fee.

"The big fee will be a boost to Everton's finances and will help reduce debts estimated to be in the region of £30m."

He could have said he absolutely hates us but if he was a quality player I'd still take him.

We need players that are going to improve us as a team and he isn't going to do that. In fact, I think it'll have the opposite impact and become a huge issue when his dire form continues yet he still finds himself in the starting XI because he's a big name signing.

Hopefully he himself acknowledges he's spent at the top level and jets off to China. Whilst there he can master the language, embrace the culture and earn millions whilst doing so. I'd wish him well.

We don't have the same resources as "the big six", so we aren't ever going to sign a player who's as good as Wayne Rooney was ten years ago. However, even the Wayne Rooney of today is better than anything we've got going forward, Rom aside.

I just can't see it happening, though. The lad is on £300,000 a week at Man Utd; he would have to take one of the biggest pay cuts in history to join us.

Lads, I know he's coming and I really hope you all support him.

His talent embarasses anything we've been able to witness at goodison from our squad.

I'm sick of hearing the "I'm a 40 year old retail manager, but I can tell when a players past it. He's peaked too early and his physique won't let him player much longer"

Say that again when he's working his socks off and blasting shots / spraying 30 yard passes.

Seriously have a word with yourselves.

If he comes on a free and accepts 100k a week max (hopefully less) then he would a good squad player (but hopefully not a starter player, that would be sad if that's the position we are in at start of next season).-then ok, we need a bigger squad.
