if Arsene Wenger would be interested, you'd rather he go there? We'd lose out to Arsenal for a top-class footballer that is an Evertonian? We should make the most of this opportunity.

No. Bottom line is we can get someone younger and hungrier and for probably less wages.

Let it go.
Agreed...Absolute beggers belief that people think this is a good move. There is little room in football these days for sentiment,we should leave all that gooey eyed nostalgia to Gordies and the Simpletons across the park.

I've got no issue with the lad,He left us,Had a great career,Fair play to him but if we want to be a forward thinking progressive club this is the absolute opposite to what we should be doing.

Stinks of Kenwright if it goes ahead.

If he came it wouldn't be for long and the money isn't a big issue. He'd be a very handy squad addition, especially if we don't get an adequate replacement for Rom.

He shouldn't expect to get any more game time than he gets at MU and that would need to be made clear to him.

A world reknowned sports superstar who will raise the profile of our club massively, attract better players who will want to play alongside him and almost certainly increase advertising revenues.
A man who will be on a mission to get into the England squad for the World Cup.
A player who was truly world class and if he's fit could produce world class moments again.
A player who still has so much to offer for 2/4 years - he's only 31.
An inspiration to a group of fantastic young players coming through - for this above all other reasons I hope that he comes back. The level of skill he will show in training will push them on, raise the level of their own ambitions and expectations in their abilities as players, help them realise what is needed to play at the very top level.
And above all else - he's a winner, he has a winning mentality, and I for one am sick to death of year after year of insipid failure, of seeing our so called heroes fail when they turn up at the big clubs, especially at that hole across Stanley Park.
And ... no matter that he left, he's one of us, there's no doubt about that.

After exhausting all other options we will bite the bullet and sign him up. A statement released via Jim White will say that we brought him home because he's family, and at Everton we look after our own.

If Wenger was interested in Welbeck, you don't think he'd be interested in Rooney? Come on..

Rooney has categorically stated he has no interest in joining another Premier League club other than Everton, IF he leaves UTD

I'm in favour of him joining, he's still got some stuff in the tank is better quality than a lot of what we currently have and he'll have a wealth of experience to hopefully teach to our youngsters at the club.
