Are people still flogging this dead horse? No and i was a bit put off by Steve Walsh gushing over Wayne Rooney a few months ago.I thought this fella was hired to spot and sign promising young players, not gush and fawn over has beens. It would be hilarious for all the talk of a new Everton that our marque signing this summer, would be a past his prime Wayne Rooney.lol

Interesting poll results. Almost 2:1 in favor, yet the vocal minority would have you think the overwhelming opinion was to never bring him back. I like numbers.

He definitely wouldn't be my first choice, but on a free as a player to bolster the squad I think it will happen. The only thing that might stop it will be if he asks for £100k+ in wages, I don't think he's worth that for the fact he shouldn't be playing every game.

The lad is quite obviously talented, he's 31 (isn't he?) not 35 so he does still potentially have a couple of years left. You just have to look at the state of our bench this season, some games it's been absolutely dire. Bringing Kone on against Chelsea was one of the many low points of the last few games, he did that well that Koeman didn't bother with him after that.

Unfortunately we won't be able to sign 7 50mil players like some of our fans think we should, we need to add players on the cheap where we can.

He's not finished yet, he'd play with more desire than he has for years and he'd be the only winner in the entire squad. I wouldn't fancy us blowing our entire wage budget on him but yeah, I'd definitely have him. Might add a bit of bite to a team of mostly complete cowards as well.

I just dont think he has the legs any more, no problem with him as a person but from a football point of view I just dont think he has it

Except Capt Jags...he exudes courage and fortitude; a natural leader of men

If he signs, he'll be one of our players of the year. Has a footballing brain 10x we have in any other player here... plus will be on Kluits' fitness regime. Just needs some talented tricky wingers, we have enough legs behind him. Awaits 2018 vaults.

Oh yes. When Tom Davies got started on against Watford and Jagielka was literally the only player on the pitch aside from Robles to not get involved I was impressed. Clearly watching from afar to spot the enemies' weaknesses.

...he needed to tie his boot-laces

He has been finished for 3 years. Really depressing to think we are looking likely to see two 23 year olds in Rom and Ross leave and bring in Rooney

I don't exactly 'want' him back. But if we have the chance to sign him it's a yes from me.
